My family has camped @ Gl.Lks.St.Park several times in the past 35 yrs. and gives this park very high rating for quality and natural experience. Campground typical for MN state park with availability of camper cabins and group camp sites primitive to group with elec. hookup. The virgin prairie is awesome as well as the small lake and oak woods. XC ski trails awesome. Park needs legis. funding to upgrade ski grooming, dumpsite for RV & bathrooms.

Human

This is a nice state park with a campground at the top of a hill. Sites are large, well shaded, and mostly open. Restrooms were reasonably clean but old. Dump station is just a wide spot in the road and on a bit of a slope, so bring your wheel chocks. We will probably camp here again.

Feed The Turtles

Nice small campground. Very quiet with the exception of the howling wolves in the evening. The swimming beach is small but nice and gravely with no weeds and the water is clear and warm. The highlight was feeding the snapping turtles that live under the fishing pier, our left over eggs and burgers as well as the numerous sunfish. My only complaint is there are a lot of hiking trails but not much for biking trails. Also the dump station is on the wrong side of the road for people leaving the site.
