This nice state park is adjacent to the Interlochen Art Facility and commuting distance to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear. There are two nice lakes for boating and swimming. But be aware that the spaces are close together and so you will be surrounded by lots of noise from other campers. HELPFUL HINT: The loop with spaces #300 and above is more wooded, spacious and quieter. Sites 363-413 overlook the lake. But some spaces are not level, so choose carefully

Holiday Weekend
Our weekend at this park was a combo holiday. 4th of July & National Cherry Festival in Traverse City. I will be honest I was dreading this trip. I feared that the crowd being at full capacity would be too rowdy. The sites are close together but we had site 364 and it felt semi private being a corner lot on the edge of the campground. Perfect for us. Shaded site. We were warned by a neighbor site while setting up the camper that our site had flooded during a storm earlier in the week. We had no issues with that. Bugs were not bad at all. Shower had good pressure and hot water. We would stay here again.

Crowded
This is a very crowded campground. The site place you really close to other campers on ALL sides. Zero privacy. The electrical boxes for 4 sites are on one post so bring a long cord. Showers are new but stay dirty due to high traffic. Staff is really great and the price for a night is a tad high. The toilet in paper is awesome. Not that cheap stuff. Ok for the money. I’d return.

Nice Park
Nice state park right, a short walk from Interlochen Music Camp. Sites are close together, not much privacy. Clean individual showers, with plenty of hot water. The swimming beach is close by, but sand and stone. Hard on bare feet. The camp store has just about everything you could need. Just a short drive to Traverse City and the Lelanau peninsula. A great distinction for a weekend trip.
