Nice
Park carefully or bring an extension cord some outlets are kinda far. No water at sites so fill up on way in. Very pretty park with full usage. Swim at beach on bay or on lake huron. Can walk to either. Easy drive to town. Restrooms clean. Nice place to stay.

No Water In Campsites.
The sites are electric only, no water outlets at campsites. There is water available for filling containers at several locations in the campground. It's a large campground, usually crowded, but campers were quiet and well behaved. Walking distance to the beach, but a cart or wagon is useful.

IMPORTANT: please ensure you have a minimum 50 foot power cord since the electrical outlets are old-fashioned and very difficult to reach with a 30 foot cord. The park is scenic with a beautiful sunset from the bayside, however the beaches are unfortunately flooded.

Wish It Was Better
So dissappointed as we had heard so many positives about this park. No tissue in ladies room. All windows and doors closed tight with no a/c in baths made things pretty smelly. Maybe I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time? Park itself was OK. We were pretty packed in.

A Little Crowded But....
Great location with trails to a small pet friendly beach, a lighthouse and trails to a protected coastline offering incredible birding opportunities. I saw flocks of monarch butterflies, flickers, a blue heron, a hawk and numerous water fowl. Def worth the crowded sites. Bathrooms and showers are very clean and getting a site without a reservation was no problem for us. We arrived on a Tues though so I'm not sure if the weekend availability.

Love It
Beautiful location, fills up in a hurry on weekends and holidays. Staff was courageous enough to deliver wood right to your site. Lighthouse is cool to climb up into, ok its a smaller lighthouse when it comes to that. In Michigan you reserve a spot for your camper, anybody caming there has to buy a passport (unless you are from Mi). Fill your water tank before you park because you cannot hook up to any of the various spigots to get any. Still a beautiful location on lake Huron. (Stayed June 2015)

Beautiful Grassy Campsites.
We have camped here quite often. The lighthouse is open on some weekends and you can climb the stairs to see an awesome view. A bike path goes all the way to Tawas. While Michigan state parks as a rule don't have water hook ups, please don't let that stop you from enjoying this wonderful park.

Nice place only wish they had water hook ups at the camp sites.
