Beautiful Park

This was a beautiful state park! Very interesting driving in. Very scenic. We had a lovely view of the lake despite the few inconsiderate rigs who felt the need to light up their rigs like a local nightclub! Why? True campers? Not! We come to enjoy the beauty of nature , not to be distracted by Christmas decorations! But the park is definitely worth the stay ( if you’re a TRUE camper).

Great Park!

We stayed one night on our way to CO. We wanted to ride the Switchgrass Trail System we had heard so much about. We loved the riding and enjoyed the camping We stayed in site 91 at Big Bluestem. We had electric and water. Sites seemed to be set so that hookups were in the opposite side with hose/cords under the trailer. No big deal as they were plenty reachable. Newer shower building within walking distance of our site. But bring a hanger for your towel, clothes etc. There are no hooks inside and the bench is easily wet from shower. I've learned to take a hanger with clips and hang it from the door hinge and set anything else I don't need immediately just outside the door. That all worked fine here. We will definitely be back. We want to explore more of the mtb trails and there is easy 3 days riding to be had here without getting bored or seeming repetitive

Very nice park with hook ups and tent camping. Nice camp hosts. Inexpensive.

Great Place

We came across this place on the way to NM. We stayed 1 night. It was perfect for that. The toilets are a drive away from the site we stayed at. The price lifts what you get at the site

This a beautiful park, however it needs a facelift. Bathrooms are very tired and dirty. We stopped here on a quick overnight so it was okay.

Beautiful views

We were traveling home from WY and came upon this little gem of a Park. Once we found a spot, it was easy to set up our camper, and we were right on the lake...beautiful view, but because we got there after dark and didn't have a reservation, it was confusing. The camp host was very helpful, and we found the spot he directed us to quickly. My only advice is to get there early enough so it is much easier to find a spot...its very difficult when you don't know where you are going, plus it's dark.

Nice. Quiet

I think it must have been end-of-season because there was hardly anybody in the park. I had lake front view in Grandma Loop and it was quite lovely. Although the mosquitoes really do love my blood type... Otherwise I have to admit I didn't think there was anything quite this attractive in all of Kansas LOL I would definitely stay here again

Hidden Gem

Wilson State Park is great. We stayed on Grandma loop and were right up against the lake that over looked a rocky cliff, sunset was amazing. Only one shower house available and it was not clean at all. If you can get passed the shower house your visit will be good. Trails were well kept and water access was easy at the Marina. We will be back in the Fall.

Beautiful State park not far off the interstate. Extremely friendly hosts.

Nice Area Of Kansas

Nice campground with great access to the unique terrain of this area of Kansas. The Switchgrass mountain biking trail is epic, with plenty of wildlife. Bathroom 3 could use an upgrade, but the others are good.
