Enjoyed Two Nights
Pros: great views, nice hiking trail, heard the fishing was good, full hookups Cons: rv dump site was overflowing, Lake View loop had no toilet or shower facilities, dumpsters overflowing We would come back if we could get reservations near the showers.

Good for one night.
Great spring fed lake with plenty of sites, very busy though. We had to call the park office several times because of blaring music on the other side of the lake. They finally must have told them to shut it off.

Rambling Randy
Beautiful, clean and quiet. My site needed blocks. No big deal. Showers have no hot water. No laundry. Very nice park. One of the nicest parks so far. I really want to like this place, drawbacks. 18 miles from a town. Grocery store good. Laundry mat very nasty. When I say nasty, I mean NASTY. The park can't help that, altho they could put in a laundry, removing the need to go to the NASTY laundry. Turn on the hot water. Then i would give 5 stars.

Beautiful Place
Oasis in western Kansas. Lovely lake with nice beach and canoe rentals. Hiking trails as well as lots of walking paths near the lake. Scenery is beautiful. Historical sites in the area. Campsites range from primitive to FHU. Worth the 30 mile drive from I-70. Shower house is adequate and clean. Fort Scott is 17 miles away for grocery supplies etc.

Spring-fed Western Kansas lake. Camping early September. Weather in the 80s dry conditions feels more like 70. If you like hiking and biking this is the place for you. Saw lots of wild turkeys most of them was this year's hatch. Nice and clean if you've never seen Western Kansas you might love this place.

THIS is western Kansas?!?!?!?
One of the most pleasant surprises we've ever had camping. Beautiful little spring fed lake nestled in a canyon like area w lots of hiking and biking trails. Canoe, kayak rentals and a little store as well. Go in the off season, summer nights we hear get loud and rowdy w locals in to party.
