First they removed half the sites. Now it is 100% online and raised the price to $23 plus on line fee. Can't do walk up anymore and that is a pain in the ass.

Ok for overnight stay or if you are into fishing. Otherwise not much to do in the area. Sites are level, and easy to access. Very limited trees for shade. Water was heavy on iron, manganese and sulfur, but my filter seemed to address it, but noticeable in the shower house. The Desoto Nature Preserve has a nice visitor center and display of artifacts from Steamboat Bertrand.

Nice Place
Plenty big enough. nice single showers. Small playground. Lots of greenery. Nice river access. Near Desoto Bend neat to visit the steam boat accident building and see the artifacts. Great place to find morel mushrooms!

Stayed here twice in the summer of 2016. Both during the week and there were hardly any people there. Great location right next to the river and some hiking trails.
