Spaced Out Sites

Get a senior discount with your National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Pass($11 a night). The camp sites are spaced out nicely. Quite during the weekdays. Moderately busy day use on bike trails and boat ramp. Four stall dump station and plenty of volunteers taking care of the bathhouses and grounds. One of the best I’ve camped at in Iowa. Red Rock Lake has a lot of areas to checkout. We kayaked in the southwest cove by the boat ramp. We seen Eagles, turkeys, Sandhill cranes in 30 min. of putting in. Short distance to Pella, a fun town to spend time walking around enjoying their hospitality(food, treats) and gardens.

I love this place. Great fishing and close to the paved bike trail. So quiet and peaceful.

This is a good park to use as a base for long bike rides on the Volksweg trail.
