We were immediately greeted by the host. Good, level sites with several pull throughs. Only used the single hole restroom in campground a few times, and each time it was exceptionally clean. Picnic table, fire pit, and electric at each site. Dumping station and drinking water by the shower house when you come in. There is another shared water well at opposite end of campground. Internet is great. (We have Verizon.) Trains are nearby but not too loud. Several LOW CLEARANCE areas in Chariton; check map and warning signs before going through town. Bait house a few minutes east on 34 at the Trading Post. Leeches, worms, and large selection of tackle with friendly staff. Red Haw is a good lake for crappie, blue gill, bass, and catfish. No fishing allowed after 10:30PM. Several kayaks using the lake. There are three kayak launches attached to docks to easily get on and off the water. Overall, well maintained and beautiful park with a friendly park ranger and helpful campground host.
