One Of Our Favorite Parks
We absolutely loved our stay here. Electric only but can fill water easily from fill up station before camping. The sites are large with fire pits and tables. The bathrooms could use some good cleaning and updating but they work. Love the trains you can hear now and then. Airport never bothered us. The park over all is kept up beautiful. We hiked to the river and to see the Indian mounds. Its close enough to town to go to the casino and restaurants if you like. Met my sisters and their husbands from MI and we all camped together. Decided to make it a yearly thing. There are many trails you can explore.

Ridiculously expensive. Off season, only open for camping on weekends. Recreation facilities not open, yet they charge full price! $32.10 for an electric only site and another $7 for entry into the park for 2 people. Restrooms are extremely dated, showers are push button, non-adjustable. The spray heads were all clogged with minerals so they sprayed up, to the side, anywhere but on you. Expect constant trains. Also if that weren't enough, the campground is built along the runway to a local airport. If you enjoy watching small planes taking off and landing you can have a front row view. That said the rest of the park looked pretty and well kept.

Anderson Mounds State Park
We visited the Mounds S.P. for a quick getaway from home. We really enjoyed our brief excursion. We were in a very quiet part, with a local airport that borders the park. It was a lot of fun watching the old bi-planes (several), take off and land. The site was level and had a heavy picnic table and fire ring furnished. Electric only, but the dump station is well located. There is also a very informative visitors center with a wildlife viewing room, to watch the critters play and eat. We plan to visit again, and bring swimsuits for the nice pool facility at the edge of the park.
