Disappointing
It’s been Neglected for years. Very evident that the state is going bankrupt. The mosquitoes were unbearable in July.

Better Than Expected
Quiet little park. Lots of trees and HUGE sites. Campfires (yay!), water and electric. No sewage at sites but has a dump station on your way out. Walking distance to beach. Shower house leaves a little to be desired, but functional. We planned to stay 2 nights but extended to 5 nights. If you’re looking for a slick park this is not it, but if you want a quiet clean place to camp with lots of room, I highly recommend this one!

BEAUTIFUL PARK ... But
Camp sites are beautiful but by the water the park needs improvement. Abandoned building which once were showers, concession etc now boarded up. Could be refurbished and make a very nice park. Walk along Lake Michigan is beautiful and wonderful place to look for rocks. Electric only but did have a small camp store with firewood, ice & some candy. Overall wld camp here again

No Good
The old fat mall cop The younger and dumber mall cop And old leather face Are all il-suited for their responsibilities; nor do they have the temperament or people skills to interact with paying patrons. Park is not good, the government employees are about what you'd expect- subpar

Beautiful Location, Run Down Park
Here on a Monday night, and not busy at all. Sites are gravel with LOTS of grass growing through them. Relatively level. State of Illinois, just doesn't have the money to maintain it properly. There is a concrete area for bugger rigs, but it is basically a parking lot where you back up to your electrical connections. Several rigs over 30 feet were here. We would stay here again.

Nice But A Bit Run Down
The park has its beauty, but the state of Illinios doesn't give the hard working rangers enough money to keep it up. The other thing to note, if you are hooking up to the 30 amp service these are all GFI circuits and many people in RVs will trip the gfi circuit. The 50 amp circuits are not gfi but they are in the less attractive section of the park.

ok
Could be a lot better maintained, lots of natural beauty.... besides the nuke plant. Mildly urban feel. Good for being near Chicago.
