Great camp ground we live around Lewistown which is just about a hour drive try to come here several times a year, always friendly camp hosts

What A Find

Get shaded park right in New Salem. Power is only 30amp, but not a big deal. Water is convenient all over the park. Playground for kids and very near the visitors center.

History

This is a great campground right next to Lincoln’s New Salem. Campsites are within walking distance of the historic village. Campground is nice and quiet with a play area for kids. Bathrooms and showers are nice. Lots of trees and spots for tents. Have stayed here multiple times. Now a bar is open right across the road that serves a great pizza.

Always Pleasant Camping Here

Be sure to check out the summer performance schedule for Theatre in the Park productions. The outdoor theatre is a short walk from the campground.

Very happy to camp at this site. Quiet and clean with well paved level pads. The walk into the historic village is a pleasure. We are spoiled by this CG as we search for other places to stay close to Springfield and most are a disappointment by comparison

Great Staff

Nice level spots. Plenty of room. Close to village. Not crowded the two times I was there.
