Donation for the Night
We stayed the night after arriving about 5:00pm. The driveway is a dirt driveway, very bumpy which encourages you to drive about 5mph. We met the owner, a really nice guy. He told us which site to park at for using our 30amp. Not much to look at, no trees but it's the desert, just a field with electric to plug into. It was quiet & safe. At 7:00pm, just before sunset, Scar, the owner played the Star Spangled Banner while saluting the flag, very patriotic!! It's free to stay the night but he does take donations, nothing is free, right? We would stay again!

I had the pleasure of talking on the phone and meeting in person with "SCAR" (nickname of the proprietor). He is a kind sole who loves his animals and does not want people abusing them with good reason. "RUBY" his only pup he has left (I use pup loosely as she has got to be at least 10 YOA) knows how to work him for walks and her food. To say the least they are very interesting to visit, however RUBY will not give you the time of day (loosing her hearing I believe). DO NOT WASTE ANYONES TIME, READ HIS POST OR INTERNET AD. IT IS DRY CAMP WITH ELECTRICITY PROVIDED, IF YOU LIKE A FIRE IN THE EVENING WITH A BEER OR YOUR OWN FAVORITE DRINK. I ENJOYED MY TIME AND I WILL GO AGAIN WHEN IN THE AREA ALL I CAN SAY IS PAY ATTENTION IT COSTS YOU NOTHING (DONATIONS ACCEPTED AND I SUGGEST IT HE IS OFFERING YOU HIS PROPERTY FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE AND ADDING ELECTRICITY TO YOUR STAY THANK YOU "SCAR" HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN Mike

Very Nice Guy To Deal With
I knew we were going to be getting in late and we didn’t have a place to stay. I called and talked to Scar (the owner) and asked if he had a spot. He said he did and I told him I would be getting in around 10:30 pm. I have a large class A motor home and pulled in up to the sign he has down his road that leads to his land. He noticed me in the dark and walked over to tell me how to get in and that I didn’t need to unhook my tow vehicle if I didn’t want to. He had a 50 Amp spot for me. The next more I offered to give me a “donation” before we left. He says he didn’t force it upon anyone but I wanted to help him out as he helped me out. Keep in mind he pays for power and WiFi out of his own pocket. Even though it’s free to stay here I felt I should take care of the man with a “donation”.

Saved Our Buttes!
We came rolling into town too late to make our original reservation at a different campground that didn’t allow late check in’s. We partially filled our water at a gas station in Blackfoot and prepared to boondock at Honeys. Scar was sitting out by the fire when we arrived and after introductions, told us to find a space. There’s not much to the place, electric outlets in both amp options and a friendly dog wandering around. No reservation necessary, we don’t know what else we would have done if he wasn’t there. He doesn’t charge but there is a box where we left a donation. Just what we needed.

Nice Place To Stay
Read about Honey’s Park on a trip from Arizona to Washington. Pulled into the field and saw Scar and two travelers having a beer, which I joined. Great conversations if you want, or you can just camp by yourself. Scar bought the land to offer free camping as he was homeless for a time and wanted to provide a free place to stay when he got back on his feet. He has an Interesting background and will provide input on places to see and do. Definitely stop here if you are in the area. Bring beer as payment to crash since he probably won’t take an offer of money to stay. Enjoy!

Great guy, he runs this place out of the goodness of his heart. Don't come here just to freeload electricity as this comes from his own pocket. No water, no bathrooms. Keep this in mind when you visit.

This place was great. The owner is extremely accomodating and knows a lot of local places to explore. There is a bonfire pit and a ton of wood. It has free wifi, free power, and free beers.

Awesome
Very smart nice guy. Situation seems sketch at first. But once you realize it's all good just go with the flow. You can have a beer and maybe BBQ. No cost to stay here. Really awesome. You can also choose to hangout in your tent. Whatever floats your boat. Coffee at 7 am
