Nice, But Showing Its Age
I’m surprised there has not been a review in several years. The whole park is fabulous, the rv park, hot so much. The sites can be close together, but the trees help break the space up. The roads within the RV section are terrible, cracked and potholed with tree roots created lumps and valleys. Office staff is friendly but not very helpful. The say wifi, but when we couldn’t find it even by the bathhouse with the antenna, they just told us that wifi is not guarenteed. I expected a fairly upscale park, this is mediocre at best. On the plus side it is within Stone Mountain Park so you have access to many of the parks attractions, including a parking pass ($20 for the first day as you come in, but included with camping fees for subsequent days).

Not Again
We went to Stone Mountain for Christmas.
The site was on a precipice and after our step came down - we realized we could use another step! Our site was SO steep - my dog fell down the hill. We asked for another site-nope! The second day I fell trying to get out of the rv. At this point we were still looking at open sites - lots of them. Still - nope! We left early and went home. They sent us a survey after - I was honest with them. Guess nobody either reads them or doesn’t care. It’s a shame. One full star is too nice on our part.

Great waterfront site! We stayed three nights in February. We stayed in the oldest part, R loop, water and electric. Needs some upgrades, but beautiful and staff was great!

Nice Sites
Stayed at site 094 for three nights. Site was nice and level for our 37ft TT. Staff were friendly and helpful. Campground sites nearer to the registration office have been refreshed. Bath houses throughout campground are very clean. Roads to older sites need replacing badly though. I recommend staying in Lime Green, Peach, or Red sites. Blue sites are dated, but still doable. Will stay here again.

Our Site Was Nice
I gave it 5 stars because our site was nice and shady, but saw other sites which were not good and reason for some . Firewood sold at store was unseasoned and didn’t burn, and the wifi was spotty and slow, but hey, you’re camping. Biggest complaint: pool is closed. WTH? It’s June and pool is closed?

Mr
My family and I love coming here. So many activities at this park for the family that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. For us it’s close to home and we will come up on a Friday and depart on Sunday.
Very Clean, Hot Water, WiFi, Friendly & Helpfully Staff, and I could go on and on

The Worst Nice Campground
Staff were great, but 3/4 of the sites were terrible!! Roads and paved sites were broken and falling apart. Very narrow sites (barley enough room for camper stairs). Site wasn't even remotely level, even with 2x6's and crescent leveling blocks, our camper was still listing to one side.
If you stay here, either pay for the premium spots, or stick to the few gravel waterfront spots. And don't be afraid to ask to move.
Bathrooms were hit and miss, the men's one was nice but my wife said the womens was not so great.

Great shade most of the time. The sites in our loop were very small. Bath house was dated not real clean. NO HOT Water!!! Most sites not level. The park amenities are great. You pay to enter the park $20 to get to the camp ground. Great golf courses !! Overall some nice things to do.

Mud pit
Site was recently washed out and rocket scientist rebuilt using mud and mulch. No fire pit. Site had 1” over mud on paved and concrete pad. Barely could fit our 25’ Trailer on there. No power when we arrived but was fixed before we finished set up. Probably will never get the GA red clay stains out of our trailer and outdoor mats. Not the best Christmas excursion.

Very Cool, But Upgrade Would Be Welcome
Stayed here for one night while passing though. Very pretty setting, even for December. I think the price is too expensive for the conditions. The roads are really deteriorating, the bath house needs a Reno very bad, Tho it seemed to be clean. Just picture rusty divider walls and some broken tiles from the 1970’s. The laundry area did have new washers and dryers. The $20 pay to park is a crock, and simply adds $20 to the cost. So for a lakefront space with a nice view you are looking at $53 for the slip and $20 to get inside the park = $73 (December). Would we return? Sure! But I would love to see some improvements and actual upgrades. 40’ diesel pusher fits around the park but a lot of spaces look short! Didn’t try WiFi, Verizon was 3 bars LTE. Stayed on ‘M’ loop 327.

We have been coming to this park for over 20 years. The surface of the sites has been getting worse every year. The asphalt is broken and completely gone in spots and the sites are way out of level. For what is charged , the campsites should be repaired and the WiFi needs to be greatly improved. The $20 parking fee should be waived when a campsite is rented. Otherwise we had a great time.

Best Site
October 26th thru 29th.
This was one of the best campgrounds we have been to. Site 321 was perfect.
Near the water with room to set up chairs and enjoy the view. Great to have shuttle service to the Country Living Expo. We definitely will come back!

Nice, Will Return
Stayed at 325 on loop M. Full hookups all connections close together, fairly level, close to the water and to a view of the mtn, roads and some sites do need TLC, bathrooms I visited were ok, nice staff, general store well stocked, shuttles run to park, park is nice and clean with food/trails/attractions(mainly kid oriented)/mtn sky ride/lots of people riding bicycles/jogging/small lake, laser show and fireworks were fantastic, very scenic park, will return

My Two Cents Worth
I found this camp quite nice due to proximity to lake, T-Mobile service was excellent with the fastest 4glte that my phone has ever experienced. Wifi was present but as noted in brochure was quite slow, did not try cable as ota was adequate for our use since most of our tv comes thru our T-Mobile connection. Next time I will visit when all the attractions are open. Sites where we stayed were not paved ( red area) but some leveling needed but were spacious with all utilities working fine

RV Sites
A very scenic location. We did not use any of the facilities. The roads are another thing. They are very bad. Yes, you have to pay to enter the park.

Retired
Second stay in 15 years looks the same as I remember very clean facility. We just happened to be there when a tornado was reported in bound. Staff went door to door evacuating and providing safe lodging even going as far as refunding money for that nights stay. Nothing happened by the way. Starbucks available at the conference center if you just need a cup of powerful coffee. Will be back

Why Not 5 Stars????????
Loved the sites we were on. It baffles me why we had to change sites when staying five nights. The folks on the site we moved to only had 2 nights and couldn't have cared less were they stayed. The maintenance folks there pick up your garbage bags curb side from 9am to 5pm. Roads are ok.few pot holes. But my trailer moves 2.5 miles of gravel road so a uneven road at 15mph ain't nothing. Didn't use the bath houses and laundry was passable. Loved the lakside sites we had.
I am withholding the 5th for this reason....
I had four folks come in and set up between 11pm Friday and 4am Saturday. Woke up each time. Why bother with 10pm to 7am quite time? Lock the gates. Most campgrounds do.
All said and done we will be back maybe with ear plugs.

The park is nice and lots to do in and around the park but there are not enough rest rooms and the one's they have only have one shower and two or three toilets in the ones they have. They are in sad sad shape. Very out dated too. The two laundry rooms only have one washer and two dryers that work. It is a shame as you can see this park was once great.

Super Park..... Highly Recommended!
Some of the camp sites require extra leveling. But there are such lovely views of the lake scenery, the mountain vistas, and Golf Course. The park and other activities are very conveniently close by and while weather dictates the park rides there are plenty of other activities to keep people busy. The WiFi at this park is not for streaming so don't expect Netflix or the like, but it will do fine for email and very light surfing.....

We were in a 38' motor coach with a tow and were told Section 'M' was a great site. These sites were not meant for big units and most were mere 'pull offs', not pull through. The ground was very unlevel and hilly and we had to arrange and rearrange pads to get the coach level. Once level, the front wheels were off the ground and it was very difficult to reach utilities. BTW, not only do you have to pay for your campsite, but you have to pay entry into the main gate.

Excellent area for camping. They have a great array of campsites to pick from(shady, secluded to in the middle of everything). Staff excellent on all levels. I can't speak on the wifi/cable. We didn't really dive into those. Park seems to be in good shape and well maintained from what we dealt with. No issues to speak of. Stone Mountain Park has loads to do. Laser show is a must see. We will be back and soon.

So So.
The Staff is nice enough, but the campground could use some work. The WiFi is hit or miss. Basic cable TV leaves a lot to be desired.
They either could not or would not answer emails.

Very nice campground. Lots to do in the area. Nice pool. Could see stone mtn from our site by the lake. Friendly staff.
Entrances to the state park/Stone Mtn. Campground are very narrow. Just barely have enough room to squeeze through with our toy hauler.

Nice,a Bit Pricey
Nice older park, could use some repaving, and some TLC. But overall the sites are big. Most if not all sites have a picnic table and campfire location. Most sites have wonderfully views of Stone Mountain and lake. Worth a visit.
