Fishing Tournament
Was nervous about booking this campground because of previous bad reviews. Turned out to be completely false. This was a wonderful experience. From check in the attendant let us know of a spot on the lake that was open for no additional charge. Two campground host helped us back into our site. The night time security even helped me find a spot to plug my boat's battery charger up in the overflow parking. Bath houses were very clean. The local sheriff's dept even patrolled thru at night. Two pools on the property and they are adding more sites. Will definitely book again. We stayed in site #7

Has Great Potential
Our spot was level and had a really nice wooden deck. We showed up after hours but there was a number to call and a really nice guy showed up and guided us to our spot. The park is very big. I would not mind coming back in the spring to see what it is like. The only reason it did not get five stars is some of the roads were a little tight to maneuver and the place was looking a little run down.

A Little Too Quiet
We stayed here for 8 days. I’m giving a real-world review based on what we experienced and in response to some of the whiney negative reviews. Grounds are well maintained. It’s an older ground. So, no, the roads aren’t perfect. But they are just fine. We have a 40’ bumper pull and a 4 door dually. I had no problem getting into and out of our spot and it was a little tight. Sure, there could be some more room to maneuver around to get set up but it’s not that bad. Pool was very well maintained every morning. Staff was very friendly. As were the grounds keepers. Beach was very pleasant and well maintained. Campground is old and very simple. Which brings me to my title. There is nothing additional to do here. They do not have canoes or kayaks to rent. There is nothing going on during the week. It is extremely quiet. So plan on entertaining yourself. Wifi works most of the time. Overall, extremely relaxing, cozy, quiet, clean, welcoming, safe campground. Now we just need to buy a boat ;)

Horrible!!
This RV park is a disaster!! Sites are worn out unleveled gravel. Pot holes everywhere and pull throughs give you no where to pull though unless there’s no one in the site in front of you because it’s a circle of RVs. Large rigs should not go here. This is the most we’ve paid for a overnight and by far the worst site we’d ever stayed at. We were given the wrong directions to find it. It’s 10 miles of winding turns. Not right off I-20 as we were told.

We made reservations because of being a KOA campground thinking the place would be above average. We was wrong. Driving in we felt very good, the entrance was exceptionally well maintained with train cars on both sides of drive up as you drive in. The office was clean and the personnel was average. From this point on it went down hill fast. The RV pad was not level and some what muddy (in fairness there had been rain) and we had to cover the mud just to enter our fifth wheel. The WiFi was sporadic. No cable available. The real down side to this campground is there are a lot of long term residents there and several trailers across from of had awnings that had fallen down, unkept areas around the trailers and directly across from us was a park home for rent. The exit from our area was so even and rutted that our fifth wheel rocked side to side so bad it damage my tailgate and side rail to the point I need repair work done. Needless to say we will not be staying there again.

Work In Progress
Stayed one night. Won't likely return. Chosen as a KOA, but it is not run like a KOA. Staff not very friendly, no wi-fi, no TV, VERY HIGH PRESSURE WATER, other campers told me its a travel resort ownership place and recommended I attend a 3 hour sales pitch, no thanks, but that's a stretch too. There are concrete pads, but if you don't reserve one, the terrain you will be on is steep, rocky, and probably hazardous to people who are not real stable. See my photo of neighbor camper with wheels off the ground. They are working on this place but they have a long way to go. No toilet paper in bathrooms, pool with lots of floating black ants. The terrain and paths risk twisted ankles, torn knees, etc. if not careful. Plus getting there will jar your rig to the max and then there are speed bumps along the main road in the park.

Has Potential, But Not Quite There
We really tried to like the place, and staying for 9 days while on spring break, too many things made me shake my head. First of all, the pull through sites where we stayed, were Terribly slanted side to side and down sloped. Then the sites are so packed in that my slide out was almost touching my back neighbors yawning, and same on the front side with my front neighbor. The wife was not happy. The mini golf course was taken out, which was a huge bummer, the two listed kids playgrounds were so small that my 5 and 3 year olds said they were bored and wanted to go to the big playground. Which there is none. They charge $55 for one day rental on golf cart. The wi-fi was out. The staff would never pick up the office phone. The water front spots seemed better, but the navigation to them and back out looked like a nightmare, steep hills with sharp turn roads. I know I’m complaining a lot, and maybe we’ve been spoiled by other campgrounds, but we will not be camping here again.

Great Camping Facility
Our second stay here for Christmas and New Years Eve. We enjoy all of the park. Nice people. We have made friends here and are having a planned adventure/reunion together. Traveling on to another TRA site together after the first of January. Camping friends are great.

Pleasant Surprise
Drive thru a windy road to nowhere, so we thought. GPS is wrong. Just keep driving til you come to the rail cars. Very nice park. Friendly, accommodating staff. Clean facilities.

It's a great place to stay we enjoy it a whole lot. Love the lake and the beautiful sunsets. Very nice sites down on the lake. They are working on the place but they are keeping it very clean.

Little Pricey But Beautiful
Stayed overnight. Nice views from all sites. The camp workers were friendly and approachable. Although the bathrooms had no windows, they were well maintained and beautifully tiled. Caught a small fish in the lake in under an hour. Very hilly, so if your not into walking hit up a cart ride with one of the many people who offered us rides while we were there. Slight hike off of I 20 but easy to navigate. Nice pasture to walk the pups and playground for kids. Pool is literally overlooking the water!
