A Must Stay

From Dead Horse Alaska to Key West Florida this is one of the very best.

We had a great time. I wish we would have brought our bicycles. Beautiful park with really nice campsites with a reasonable amount of privacy.

Stayed Overnight

Wanted a place not too far off I75 to stay one night while on the road. Great campground on the lake. People around us all had boats, good place to kayak. Wish we could have stayed a few nights, so we’ll be back. Cypress Grill restaurant on site was a bonus, decent atmosphere and music, but food wasn’t great, just ok.

2 nd time here. Great spots on the lake. Great park all the way around $52.00

A True Gem!

A state park just 10 miles west of I-75 in Cordele, GA. The lake is beautiful and the majority of level sites provide a spectacular view. The gnats are a small bother, but smoke an extra cigar or two and they stayed away. Aviation enthusiasts will appreciate the aircraft display, which included a B-29. The display doesn't neglect armor or artillery fans, either. A military museum inside the welcome center is worth the look. Stop by the cafe for their watermelon splash. We used it as a base for touring the local historical sites nearby.

Nice Place

Bathrooms were clean and the park was presentable. We were in a buddy site and the folks behind us were very nice. It appears that the state is doing some much needed repairs to this ageing park. Get water cable and electric, stayed June 18 for 3 nights.

Nice Campground

Stayed at site 61 campground #3, spacious, relatively few bugs, clean, well maintained, fairly level, nice dump station, plenty to do when considering neighboring Lake Blackshear Resort...trails, lake, fishing, boat rentals, marina, golf, pavilions, conference center, 2 good restaurants with bars/live music/waterfront, lots of open green spaces, Visitor's Center has very nice military museum, and there are scattered memorials and old military hardware throughout park as it is Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park, I did not use campground bathroom but there are 3 I believe and the one my wife visited could use some TLC. Campgrounds 1 and 2 are waterfront, but swimming not recommended due to alligators according to signs. The sites are smaller and less private than campground #3. Lots of kids and playground at 1&2 so it's noisier there. Will return!

Will Return

Nice sites, loop a has water front available. A lot to do inside the park, two restaurants, hiking trails, frisbee golf and an 18 hole golf course. Campground was nice, clean and bath houses were well kept. Will return for a long weekend

Beautiful

What a wonderful campground! Shaded by trees, next to a lake, with plenty of room between camping sites. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Only thing, no wifi as advertised. But in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter. We used it on our way out of Florida from Hurricane Irma and unfortunately they only had room for us for one night. We will be back under better circumstances.

Wow

We were just amazed at the layout the size the facilities. The sites are like those you find in a high priced commercial park. This park has more than you can see and do in thre e days. We are from Canada and will come back next year... Thanks a million
