Not For Me
🔸Downhill dump station 🔸Train nearby 🔸No breeze, good luck 🥵 🔸no breeze = mosquitoes and you can’t do anything outside 🔸28 is not level 🔸Spring and swimming area was awesome 🔸Lacking maintenance and love 🔸Water is questionable, foams for a minute before running clear ☢️

Pleasant Experience
Spent two weeks enjoying the campground, springs, hiking and biking trails. Nice newer bathrooms with good water pressure in showers. Shady, roomy camping area with woods between sites. Rabbits, deer, manatee, gar, tilapia, alligators, and armored cats were abundant for viewing.

One Of The Best Campgrounds In Florida
So far this state park has the best campground in Florida. Big, beautiful, clean, and private sites through out the campground. There is lots of things to do here including hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and sight seeing. RV'rs will absolutely love this place. We will definitely return.

A Very Fine Facility
The campsites are on a well paved road. Most are nicely spaced out with plenty of foliage in between. The restroom/shower buildings appear to be new. They could have been built a little bigger as there is only 2 shower stalls and to 2 toilet stalls per side. The manatee viewing area is terrific, with great wooden walkways to view the animals from. There is also easy access to the St. John river cruise boats. Bicycle riders will enjoy the area because local bike trails are adjacent to the campground. There is an active train track near by with the occasional train blowing their whistle as they go by. However, this is infrequent and not really a problem. Overall an excellent campground which I do recommend. I don't think you will find a better place to view manatees in the wild.

Small campsites poorly maintained many with potholes. Campground is under construction but improvements seem to be just to meet ADA requirements which means a new restroom and a couple of paved campsites. Swimming area is nice and the springs are always refreshing even in the stifling heat of August in Florida.
