Very Dissatisfied
The worst place we have ever stayed. We where to stay 4 nights But only stay for one night and was charged for all four nights. Highway noise Woke up at 1:00am by a smell, that was unbearable Call the office next and they told me there nothing they can do about the smell are noise.

Spent 5 nights in late March. Great customer service. Staff was excellent. Enjoyed the trees. Not a fancy resort, but that's the way we like it. The 3 cats we saw made the place seem more homey.

Just Awful! Stay Away!
Was charged $900 plus dollars for a seven day stay. They parked me right by the side of the road and called it a premium spot. There were 3 outlets. None worked. Closest outlet that worked took all the length of my extension to reach. Sewer is not on site as promised. You have to reposition your rig, dump and then return to site. And there are cat’s crawling everywhere. Driving my dog insane and trying to get in my RV. Water from a picket is rust colored. And limited hours you can have dog on beach. There is absolutely NO refund policy so I’m sitting here feeling scammed.

IMPROVEMENTS MADE
We're back again this year as we're passing by on our way to the New Orleans Jazz Fest.
We found vast improvements made since last year. New sod throughout the park, new stone (gravel) compacted to all sites and a rebuilt sea wall at the private beach.
We were impressed with the improvements.
If you can't get a waterfront site, go with our favorite; Site 20. Full hookup; with a perfect balance of sun and shade & a deck for the picnic table. We love it!

Quite Nice
My daughter-in-law made the reservations. Turned out good. We had two sites that had wrong side hookups... For pull in motorhomes??? Well run place.

New Owners
Caution! Stayed here with family in brand new 5th wheel for a week over the summer. Trees are very beautiful but the branches are really low! We had to ride on top of the camper to left large branches to clear them. Bathhouses are in serious need of repair. Cable connection for the site next to us was ran across our site with cable splitter sticking out of the ground. Had to park car over the cable so no one would get hurt.

Spent two nights here the staff was impeccable the site was beautiful, (a little tight for our rig but getting out was no problem with the expert guidance of well-trained staff).
We arrived after hours and everything was set for us in an envelope, no issues.
The campground is now called the Hideaway.

Beautiful Spot
Okay so the place isn’t perfect but I’d stay again. The ups first, it’s close to the water. It was great to be so close to a beach. The restroom and laundry are adequate and the location is great for accessing restaurants and grocery stores. The negatives, spaces are tight and often over booked. We shared our pull through site with another trailer. Also, there has also been some destruction to some structures near the beach which I suspect are from hurricanes. I feel like this should either be removed or repaired as it does portray a trashy appearance.

Nice place but be very careful the trees need trimming, scratched my class A bad getting in and out, also if you are pulling a trailer there is a extra charge for that that is not mentioned until you get booked!

Park Advisor Edit Needed
FYI:
Phone is the same; but new name/site is thehideawayretreat.com
Also, $95 is the waterfront rate.
Did not stay (yet), just planning.
Update: We stayed here 4 days (4/9-4/12 2021) and found the Hideaway with the look and feel of a State Park than a RV Park that is surrounded with full grown Live Oak Trees that provide excellent shade and a wind berm when gulf winds pick up.
Terrific staff, convenient laundry that takes credit cards ($2.25) and your own private beach. Other reviews stating that they could not dump there tanks; like all other RV Parks, some sites don't have full hookups (but most do here). Our favorite site is where we stayed at #20 is full hookup with a nice little patio ($6 more than standard).
The Hideaway may need a little TLC; but not a game changer for us.
Keep in mind, if you prefer franchise RV Parks that are perfectly manicured with asphalt and paver sites, this may not be your style. But if you stay at State and National Parks, you'll feel at home.

Doggie Paradise
We had such a great stay here . Its called the Hideaway Retreat.( New owners). Our dogs loved it. The staff was awesome Craig helped in many ways (Maintenance guy). I cant tell you all the names , but a new girl just started and I can't remember her name . She was very nice and respectful. My wife and I said if we ever come back this way, this would be the place for us because of our 5 dogs ! Good luck to you ! Thank you so much for a Great week!

Staff was friendly but if your wanting to get some sleep, then this place might not be for you. We were here for three nights and was told (after we paid in full for full hook ups) that we could not dump till the day we were leaving. If we wanted to dump, we would have to disconnect everything. Put our slide in and retract our jacks and move to other spot to dump and then move back. No discounts or refund was offered. What a pain. I don't think I will be back. Save your money.

So Quaint and Beautiful
Excellent little park right on the water. Not a lot of sites which makes this park so special. Beautiful landscape and very natural with trees. It’s now called Hideaway Retreat. Staff was great. Will definitely be back!

Since we are “sheltering in place” this spring break, I can’t imagine a better place. Lovely, friendly, private beach on the gulf, sun, sand, warmth, what more can you ask for, especially during this chaotic time.

RV Owner
The place was very nice and the people friendly. They have a septic side of the park and a city sewer side of the park. Please pick the city sewer side of the park. I had two sites one they made me move from because the septic was overflowing and that was just the gray water just soap and water. The other site they moved me to site 17 by the way had previous sewer / septic backups and so did I. The problem is that the owner she blamed the septic backups on my camper which there was nowhere else that I stayed in a year and a half never had an issue and she had two in that one spot while I was there. AND SHE BLAMED ME!

Just spent 10 days here. The new owner is turning this beautiful quiet rustic ground into a gem. It is now called “The Hideaway”. Friendly place and the trees cover the place in a beautiful canopy that just feels so good.
