Close Sites and Vicious Bugs

Stayed here for two weeks and the bugs are constant even during the day. The sites are close to one and other for a State Park. Park staff and volunteers are great. Bathrooms are clean. They have onsite waher and dryer which takes credit cards, $2 for wash and $1.75 for dryer. Lots of birds and wildlife. The Go-Cats-On-The-Water and the Kayak Rental in the park are worth the money. Sites are so close I didn't use my fire ring for fear of smoking my neighors out. Not sure I would stay here again due to the bugs, but it is in the everglades so I should have expected it.

To Close Together

This state park is awful. The campsites are right on top of each other with no trees for shade or privacy. Very small sites and campground for a state park.

Nice Park

Nice stop after being in the Everglades. Spots a bit tight but clean and friendly folks. Dump station is in bad spot and I ended up not using it.

The Everglades

First let address the mosquitos comment from a previous post. IT 'S THE EVERGLADES the largest swamp in the US. BTW we were there in January and no mosquito problem. We really liked the park. There were multiple bathhouse that were clean. Each bathhouse had a washer and dryer payable by credit card. The sites were level had a picknick table fire pit/ grill water and electric We were at site 39 that backs up the US 41. Once in a while we heard a group of motorcycles, but for the most part it was quite. We rented kayaks and enjoyed the glades. It was easy kayaking. Alot to see. We also walked one of the nature trails and so alot of Florida's plants and trees. Don't forget to say hello to the dredge. We went to Maroc Island for dinner It is 15 minutes from the park. A very nice park and would stay here again.

Great Place

Great place,bathrooms are clean,shower,laundry machines, ppl are friendly,lots very close to each other. But holly cow mosquitoes are nuts its January and we cant stay outside past 6pm...for 22$ plus tax it's great place to stay. Just get mosquito tent and spray. Even during the day in the shade they are bad.

Nice And Well Maintained

Park is beautiful, very clean clubhouses, hot water, nice spots. Lots to do and very safe.

Great State Park

The campground is great. Really, really clean. Restrooms were clean, and they have on site laundry machines. People were friendly. Spots are a little close together, but it doesn’t really matter the charm takes over from there. Safe, kids can ride bikes on roads. Reserve early, spots go fast.

Nice Spot For Small Rigs

Spaces a little tight; lots of dogs, bikes, kids. But nice walking path. Note some sites back up to hwy 41 but they let you pick your site. It’s first come first serve walk up if same day registration. Mosquitoes but not too bad during walk with breeze

Tight Sites

The site we had was very hard to back into having a ramp to a building in front of our site. The gravel pad was uneven. Compared to other Florida State Parks we’ve been to, this one pales in comparison. The Bay City Dredger was interesting to read about and look at. Regrettably one of the walking loops was closed due to hurricane damage. I would seek out a different state park if I returned to this area.
