We have been here once before and came back to stay a few days. It is one of the newer state parks in Florida, and campsites are generous and mostly level. It is also quiet and the restrooms are very nice.

Wonderful State Park
Our first camping experience at Colt Creek. Both RV and tent sites have electricity and water hookups. Some pull throughs have sewer hookup as well. Senior rate of $12 a night can’t be beat. We used 50 amp and 30 amp also on same pole. Highly recommend!

Quiet and well maintained
Nice place, very quiet and peaceful. Rv area is flat with gravel sites and several paved ADA sites. Not as much shade in my spot and the area surrounding was a bit swampy (so a 4 not a 5 star rating) so check the map or call to pick the best spots. The park has many primitive sites that are in a large open grassy field and another area with many trees. These areas can get really muddy so definitely get out and check the ground before driving in those areas, especially after a good rain. Lots of trails, kayak rentals, and 2 small lakes. 20 minutes from Lakeland shopping areas and restaurants.
