Stayed May 8-12, 2023
First time camping with our travel trailer at FT Wilderness. Stayed here once before way back in 2004 when my kids were young in a tent. We enjoyed our stay back then other then the tent site had crushed shells and they would get dragged into the tent we popped one of our air mattress then so having a camper this time was night and day. Received a free upgrade by Disney from very friendly gate check in lady in the 400 loop by just asking. Site was clean and very well maintained. Comfort station was excellent with showers, laundry and restrooms all well maintained and clean. The restaurants were undergoing renovations and were closed. They did have food trucks there next to them. The trading post has snacks, supplies and merchandise and of course the all important Mickey Ice Cream bars. The boat service to the MK was excellent. It is not cheap to stay here @ $125.00 per night but to be able to stay on Disney property with our camper and have all the perks that go with it justified it.

Not Disney Quality
$110 night in October for preferred loop 300. I have a 37’ travel trailer and the 300 loop is extremely tight. Site was narrow with gravel and an oversize concrete pad. Bathhouse was a mess. No doors on the shower stalls. Two toilets one with a door and one without. Four shower stalls only three with on/off handles. Walk path to the bathhouse was mud. Pool area is nice and large with a slide. No vehicle parking near pool. Wi-Fi was hit and miss. I did like the convenience of location to the parks. I did like that I could dive to the park and not pay the $25/day for parking. I didn’t like that when you reserve you don’t get a breakdown of what your paying for in a bundle package. Probably would not come back.

47th Trip
We have been camping at Ft Wilderness since the late 80’s starting first with a pop-up through trailer, to Class C, Class A and finally with a 42’ fifth wheel. Without a doubt the best campground we have ever stayed at. You do have to plan ahead of time to get a reservation at the time you want. You can either go into the parks or stay at the campground and still have a great time. You do get what you pay for. Will continue with the grandchildren and will be getting our first grandson’s first haircut at the Magic Kingdom this January. Home away from home.

Nice , But Not BIG rig Friendly.
Great place BUT VERY tight roads. The curves in the roads are to the point a big rig will find it VERY difficult to maneuver . Check your site out FIRST before driving your RV into the camp site if you have a big RV...Some areas are better then others. Three stars due to the tight roads. Five stars if you do not have a big rig.

Wonderful Experience
Call week before Christmas and was able to get reservations. Very lucky. Food was not so great. Sites were really nice and the people went all out at Christmas. Great place and will be back.

Last Trip
Wow, $180 per night are you kidding me! I’ve been camping in fort wilderness since the year it opened. Started in tents and every type camper since, now the last three trips in 40 ft Phaeton bus. Every year we’ve stayed two weeks. Key to getting a site you want, buy the ticket package. The staff are excellent, the buses are not so nice and if you haven’t noticed your return bus stop will be the farthest away from each park. Wait times for buses to parks are three times longer. The 700 loop was just updated because when it rained it flooded, ps it rains almost everyday at Disney. Loop 300, 400, and 500 are so tight large fifth wheelers and buses have a tuff time backing in. Having written this I still want you to know that the campground and Disney will always be dear to our families memories, but the fact that Disney deems it necessary to be greedy and rip campers off for a slab with electricity, water and sewer by raising price to $180 + tax per night is the last straw! Good bye!

Book Early
Tried to make a simple RV reservation for a birthday 2 months from now. Forget about it. According to the really nice CastMember I spoke with you have to book 500 days in advance. 500 days!!! No thanks. Fort Wilderness is good, but not that good.

Loved Our Stay
My husband is not a Disney fan at all and he loved this campground! Yes it’s pricey but for staying on Disney grounds and having access to extra magic hours, buses and ferries you can not beat this. Staff was incredible especially when we sustained a flat tire and were stuck in our site passed our check out time. Loved the main pool and festivities. It’s a huge campground so must bring bikes or golf carts Sites were level and spacious! Can’t wait to come back here

Wow! Read the reviews!!!! This crowd camps?? One is not happy because Mickey isn't on everything? Manicured wilderness. Nothing real. No bugs. No critters. No reality. Yup, it is Disney reality. Come and stay for $130 to $150/ night and get close to an antiseptic outdoor experience!! Yuk!!@

Reservations
Beware, sites may not be available if you don't make reservations in advance. After all there is only 1 campground. It's strongly recommended that you do so one year in advance if you're traveling during the holidays and festivals. Otherwise, be prepared with a contingency plan either to stay off site, change when you'll be going, or wait to see if people cancel before loosing their deposit but know that Disney doesn't have a notification system to let you know if a site opens up. Packages aren't available that early but you CAN make the reservations and upgraded to a package later! We learned this the hard way so hopefully this tip will save someone else a headache. As for the price compare nightly costs to surrounding campgrounds and consider whether or not an off-site stay is worth saving the money. It is Disney so anyone going should already realize that nothing there is reasonably priced.

Perfect In Every Way
Couldn’t have had a better stay. For as packed as the park stays, it is very quite at night. The campground activities are amazing, so much so, that you truly don’t need to leave. Definitely bring bikes or a golf cart if you have one. They do have carts to rent but during peak season they quickly rent them all out. We are already planning our next stay!!

Worth Every Penny !!!
Love Ft Wilderness. We reserved a Premium site 800 loop. Very well maintained, pool was awesome for the kids, rode bikes everywhere. It’s expensive but worth it. This is our favorite RV park. Many time we never head to the theme parks. Just hang at the site and enjoy. Disney never disappoints.

It's Disney so they go all out. Expensive but you feel more wrapped up in the magic when you stay on property. Very cleaned and maintained with plenty to do even if you don't visit the parks. Remember to lock up items you don't want taken (bikes). People feel a little too safe because it's Disney. Had a friend who had items taken. They have security but they can't be everywhere and some people are still jerks even when they're on vacation.

Five Star Campground, Five Star Price
It's nice; level concrete sites, picnic tables, grill, pool, free transportation around the campground and to Disney parks, lots of activities, friendly staff. It's expensive; minimum stay length, expect to pay in the range of 120-150 per night depending on the site you opt for, general store is expensive so stop at Walmart on your way into town. This place is huge, but they allow golf carts and rent them out.

Floridian Residents Mother’s Day Weekend
We stayed here during Mother’s Day weekend for our first trip in our new big rig RV and even though it rained the entire weekend we had a good time.. we live only 35 mins away but wanted to try our new RV out before a long cross country trip we have planned coming up. We didn’t leave the campground at all. I would give it 5 stars but 1: There should be more parking for cars to go to the General store for those of us that don’t have a golf cart or maybe have some kind of a disability and can’t walk that far. 2: There should be more Disney character throughout the Campground. There is actually nothing (that we saw). No Mickey Minnie goofy nothing. No mouse shaped ears as lot numbers, etc. which was surprising- paying $125 per night just to hook up it would’ve been nice to know that we were there on Disney property without having to walk far to either general store that they have. And if you forget something don’t worry they have all the basic staples in the store at decent prices.

Okay
For a $130 premium site I expected a lot, which I didn't get. Cramped (uploaded pic - silver f350 and trailer). For the cost of 5+ nites at Lake Louisa SP, I'm somewhat disappointed. If I go back its off peak and a cheaper Cramped site....

Its Disney
The camp ground is the best I've ever visited, but paying $100 a night you'd expect clean and we'll maintained grounds. 5* bath houses, and laundry facilities. The one draw back is washers and dryers can't be paid for with the magic band.. On sight entertainment is great. Free campfire sing a long with chip and Dale, movies under the stars.. all the magic you'd expect.

What Can You Say About Disney?
Well I did like it there but the sites were narrow and no campfires. A little disappointed but run very well and very clean. Nice to have busses to take you to the pool, etc. I would stay here again. I think my expectations were too high. I don't have any small children and I think this is the perfect place for them. Nice paths to walk and tons of things to do.

Worth it!
We stayed the first week of December. Everyone was decorated for Christmas which was fun to see. Would recommend renting a golf cart especially if you have small children and will be using a stroller at the parks. Clean camp ground, helpful staff, and plenty to do.

Everything You Expect From Disney
Fort Wilderness is the 3rd oldest resort, but in no way does it show it's 40 + year age. With 3 levels of sites (basic, preferred and premium) any would be good for most size campers. Staff was very accommodating, and sites were wide, deep and level. One draw back, and it was stated before is water, power and sewer hookups are towards the front of each site. Our power is on the very back of our camper so our 25' standard plug needed a 15' extension. Just something to consider.

Been here a dozen or more times in the last 9 years. We love it and keep coming back. Since you're in a Disney resort you get free parking at all the parks if you choose to drive there, that alone saves big bucks. Best campground we've ever been to.

We just had our Vacation here at Fort Wilderness. My daughter and her family flew in from PA. Disney picked them up and dropped them off at our campsite and then picked them up and dropped them off back at the airport. We loved everything thing about this park. We parked and didn't have to drive anywhere. People say how expensive but you know it's worth to me. I would do this over and over again. Thank you to all for a wonderful experience

BEAUTIFUL - ALL WE EXPECTED
We stayed here and could not have been more pleased! Buses are very frequent to take you to all the Disney parks. The comfort stations are plentiful and clean, air conditioned and safe. The laundry does not take magic bands as I read in another post - they do take credit cards though. Everything was top notch! :)

Great please stay, they do it right. The only draw back is the amount of time it takes to check in, I don't understand it. Even with doing online checkin it takes up too 20 minutes. They are very friendly and helpful. Nice please to be with the kids......

Disney Knows Their Stuff!
What can I say, if it's a part of Disney, you know you're in good hands. They grounds are awesome, with many playgrounds, a stable, pools, and nice little trails. Only 2 drawbacks for me: 1. All sites are back-end, and as we are complete newbies, and arrived practically in the middle of the night, getting in was quite a struggle. Luckily, other guests were wonderfully helpful, and suggested we ask for another site as that one was particularly tight. Hard to tell in complete darkness, but sure enough, the one next to it was much larger, and Disney very quickly made the necessary changes. 2. I find the dining to be a little too hee-haw, (no offense to those who like that), and a little basic. Just because you love the outdoors doesn't mean you are a rootin tootin, barn-raising type of person. Again no offense just not my lifestyle. But I imagine even die hard country folk would appreciate more creative cuisine. Other than that this place is really wonderful!

One Of The Best!
This is in my opinion one of the best campgrounds on Florida to stay at. There are tons of activities to do on site you won't even have to visit the theme parks. Sites are clean and are concrete pads. The water, electric and cable connections are located towards the front of the pad so depending on where you hookups are you may need longer cords/hoses. The grounds are huge, you can use either their bus system or rent a golf cart to get around. Stay during the holidays and be amazed at all the decorated golf carts and camp sites. Definitely worth your time to visit!
