Hidden Gem
This campground is a nice little hidden gem.
We pulled in an evening and settled up in the morning. The caretaker/office staff was a bit grouchy.
On site you’ll park on hard packed sand. Each site has picnic tables, and there are charcoal grills on stands scattered throughout.
It doesn’t have full hookups on site but there is a dump out facility in the campground. Your site will come with freshwater and 30 amp electricity.
Bathrooms, with indoor, hot water shower, are rustic, but clean.
The views across the water are gorgeous.

Sites are cramped close together, and often full now on weekends with lots of local fishermen and their airboats, We counted no less than 15 airboats during one Saturday, and the noise level was like being on an airport runway, including late one night as several drunks insisted on unloading their boats off trailers at 11 pm. If you can avoid crowded weekends, the nearby refuge and area history is fascinating.

Snowbird
Rates have increased for 2020. $20 electric. $25 water and electric. Most sights are not big rig friendly, and dump station is definitely not! There are low hanging trees above a ramp you have to back up to get close to. Dump was uphill for me because I couldn't get close enough. I skipped dumping! Would not let RVs stay in cheaper primitive spots. Very old outdated electric boxes and a tent was plugged into mine from the next site because their 110 didn't work. Will not go back.

Little Gem Out In Nowhere
Very small but quiet campground. Not a lot to do around (if you don't have a boat) but that's the point of camping. Small outdated bathhouse but extremely clean, nice host.

Great value 8 miles from cedar key. Friendly host but little privacy at each site.

Great little campground. Has good water, electric - no sewer (but has pump out). This campground is never full! You are on the water! A little noisy at boat launch but very interesting to watch the variety of boats launching here. Very close to Cedar Key. Stop by Tony's Restaurant and get the clam chowder- its great. Also, if you like oysters - Southern Cross Sea Farms has 50 oysters for $17!!! Great beach at Cedar Key too. The folks who manage this are very friendly and accommodating.
