Good Location

This is a great location to RMNP/Estes Park. No privacy at the sites, as another person states, you are back to back with your very close neighbor. What is with these people walking through your campsite all day long? It's bad enough that its expensive, then you don't even get your own space? I tried to park my car in a way they would get the hint... nope, went around or walked right in front of my RV door! Wow! Geesh. Other than the tight spaces, they have mini golf, a river, a tiny lake with stocked fish, pool, etc.

Just finished a 4 night stay... Scott and his staff are very friendly and kind.. the spots don’t allow for much privacy... as you do back into each other and share your patio area... spots are mostly dirt and grass... no paved areas !! Spruce lake is all about location to the park entrance.. and downtown Estes Park....

Excellent staff they work with us when we had issues have no complaints campground does not have shade however hospitality makes up for it very good for this type of campground where they pack everybody in and the lights are larger than what you would think

Great Rally Point

Great central location if you are wanting to experience Estes Park. Not really camping, a little crowded, and the Wi-Fi sucked but I would absolutely stay again. Walking distance to a grocery store and to the city shuttle. Putt-putt golf, a playground, and a pool for the kids, a small lake and theBig Thompson River for fishing. Really enjoyed our time.

Great For The Area

First, make sure you are looking for the right kind of campground. If you want a true "camping" experience, maybe you should look somewhere else, although SLRV does have some nice amenities like a community fire ring, lake, playground, and mini-golf. However, if you're looking for a base camp from which to launch your RMNP experience, you won't find anything better than this. Sites are compact and close, but staggered so you aren't directly back to back or door to door with your neighbor. Trees are a luxury, but it's Colorado, not Arizona! Pricing is steep, but in line with other campgrounds. Overall, the facility is neatly kept, bathroom/shower/laundry is clean enough, and you get a nice walk along the Big Thompson river. Had elk (and bear) as our "hosts", and a great view of those majestic peaks. No loudness or partying (except for an 03:30 bear raid), saw several people catching trout from the stocked lake (tags are pricey though). Stayed early Aug, 2017.

Charge $5 per child! Code on bathroom which made me accompany my child every trip to bathroom. Great view and close to everything. Made a last minute reservation so had to take it. My big complaint is I had to take down my small 5 x5 dog pen...they don't allow. After removing I walked the campground to find 3 more that had them up! I guess I could have said it's for the kids not the dogs. Won't be visiting again.

Not Again

The location is fabulous for easy access to everything, including the river.  We were not pleased however with the configuration of the RV sites.  While they are almost double wide, the proximity to people directly behind us, was too close.  It was as if we were camping with them.  Even a fence separating the rear of the RVs would help.  There are no trees to give you a camping experience, it felt like we were camping in a parking lot. We were withing 3 feet of the people behind us. They were sitting at their table trying to have breakfast and we were walking directly behind them trying to unhook to leave this morning. The other issue is the fishing in the lake. While I know it is only fishing and catching is a different story, I would have expected to see or hear of at least one person who actually caught a fish.  Last night there were no less than a dozen people fishing and not one person caught a fish. While they say they stock the lake, it is not sufficient in my opinion.

Just a RV Park?

Been here twice before. ... The games are worn out, the sites are rough...there is a pool...and hot tub.. The location is great, views are good. Cable, water , and electric good, the sewer hookup is primitive. It just not as clean as it was...the fishing lake looks okay, not fishing this trip. Has this place changed owners? Here a week hope it gets better.
