Cool Mountain Air At 10,000 Feet
This is our favorite summer KOA campground. The temperatures here are 10-15 degrees cooler than Colorado Springs, so that is a big plus for us. The views are spectacular in this area and there are some neat historical museums and gold mines in Cripple Creek and Victor. The campground showers and restrooms are modern and they are actually well cleaned daily. The hookups at the sites are modern and well placed and sites are nicely spaced with grass, picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Sites are gravel, but fairly level and are well maintained. Be aware that really long Class A motor homes pulling trailers and long trucks pulling long fifth wheel trailers will find it difficult to maneuver in and out of sites due to the length of the pull thru sites and the narrow roads. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We will definitely keep this KOA at the top of our favorite summer campgrounds.

Nice Place For Short Term Stay
Traveling through Colorado and needed a stop off point for a night or two and found this park. Tried a couple parks near Manitou Springs but had a tough time getting anyone on the phone so decided to drive a little out of our way to get closer to Canyon City. In a big rig the roads to the park can be a challenge with some significant inclines and declines but took it slow and had no issues. The park is situated on the side of a mountain. Was able to get in and navigate turns to get on spot with 60’+ overall rig and just fit it on our pull thru site. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Facility was clean and well kept. Only shortfall would have to be to site size. Ours was narrow and did not leave much room for outside living. The sites are not too level and they are stepped up. Also, not a park issue per se but be ready for the altitude, being from Florida I felt it immediately. Area around the park is excellent for some really great motorcycle riding.

Kids And Puppies
Big sloping parking lot on the side of a mountain with great views. Decided to stay two nights instead of one and with all the adjustments to the price has ended up spending $10 more a night pricey. They moved us close to the building and bathrooms. It also was right next to the outdoor kitchen for The tenters or whoever. Also had a pancake breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings if you like that kind of thing lots of sugar in carbs. The spot was a major major gathering place and most of the vehicles coming in and out of the park at a drive-thru that spot. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves but it didn't seem very close to nature to me unless yo u think a great view is being close to nature. My wife like the dog park which is good because they charge $5 extra a day for a dog.

Very Cool
If you are looking to escape the heat of the Midwest this is the place to come. It is the highest KOA in the world at over 10,000 feet. It was in the middle 70's during the day and dropped into the low 60's at night. The camp was clean and orderly and a has spectacular mountain views. The pull throughs were level. They are pet friendly with a fenced dog park. This KOA is under new management, This is there second season. Terri is not the lady is not mentioned in previous reveiws, They were very friendly and pleasant. We will be back!!

No Complaints
We stayed here, and have no complaints. I was surprised that there were few trees, but it wasn't hot while we were here (60s during the day). The owners are new. Wifi was available - not speedy, but still available. They have fun pedal cars...but your kids need to have helmets.

The gentleman that runs the place is very nice. The woman on the other hand. I wish we would of never booked to stay here as long as we did. She is very rude. I mean very rude. She was rude the day we walked in and she has been rude everyday since then. I will never come back here. I was so excited cause it was actually clean. But now that I have had to deal with that ab&?"' Daily I know I will never stay here again. We paid over 500 to stay here. U would think someone could be civil. But she is just rude rude.
