Good For What It Is

If you want a quiet place in the middle of nowhere, this isn't it. However, if you're heading into Cañon City or rafting the Arkansas and need a spot to stay a few days, this is great and a much cheaper alternative to the nearby RV parks. Yes, you're right on the highway but it is surprisingly quiet at night. There's an under- highway walkway to get right on the river. There wasn't an onsite host but a ranger did make the rounds. There isn't a lot of shade so prepare for that, but if you're in that area anyway you know there aren't many places around providing shade. Again, temper expectations if you're not familiar with the area, but if you're there for the great rafting, this place is a very good spot to settle in at night.
