just got back from a great weekend of camping! very quiet and just far enough away from civilization to enjoy the outdoors. will be returning with more friends

This is a really nice Campground that's not too far from civilization but gives a strong feel of being in the forest. This Campground opens the second Friday in May which is clearly posted on the front gate. Sites are well to very well spaced and clean. There are at least two beautiful trails inside the park that I'm aware of. Negatives for some: no showers, only pit toilets, no water in sites but it's not far, somewhat intrusive "monitoring" by the camp hosts (although they are very friendly and helpful). $23 per night is reasonable. Firewood is available for $8 a bundle. Lots of car campers, trailers and motorhomes but not sure anything over 30-35' or so will fit. All vehicles must back in and some spaces are tight. Two vehicles and two tents per site allowed. Some sites designated with an "R" are reservable online through ReserveAmerica. We were there opening weekend and loved it. Will definitely go back.
