TURN AROUND
DO NOT STAY HERE! We were in a bind and needed somewhere for a night. We have been avid RVER’s for years and were so disgusted by this place! Behind our site, there was a party of over 70 people who had no respect for quiet hours, if you go to the camp hosts to address the situation (don’t bother) they are off duty early and leave a non emergency phone number to call. We called twice because of noise and people walking right past our camper doors all night. We were respectful and didn’t run our generator even though the party next to us was by their campfire all night making noise. They charge $6 additional for extra people outside of your party and they didn’t for that party of 70 but we paid our $50. This place is garbage. The campers are garbage. It’s not kid friendly. It’s absolutely the worst place ever! Nevada state campground is wonderful and Zephyr Cove is wonderful (but pretty cramped). Rules are in place for a reason. Camp hosts are their to enforce those rules but they don’t

Spacious, Few Sites With Hookups
This park could be really great with better care. It is right across the street from the lake, and the sites are good size, plenty of trees. However, the bathroom facilities are poor by 1970 standards. Old, cramped and dirty.
The park has a lot of sites, but the majority have no hookups. That makes the poor showers and bathrooms that much more problematic.

Campground Review
My husband and I liked our stay here, dog friendly and plenty of space to walk the dogs and bike ride, good location. I would return

Great Location, Poor Staff
Best location in SLT, Staff knows about that and seems like they don't care if you stay there or not, someone else will tyake the spot... old facilities, many dry sites, pet friendly.

Cheap For The family
Check in was quick and easy. After that down hill! Very crowded with too many people allowed at each campsite. The restrooms are in serious need of a deep cleaning and upgrade. Campsites are mostly dirt, sand, and pine needles. Be ware of camping near the busy street. Our neighbors lost a chained up generator. The police that responded said that it wasn't an unusual thing. The homeless sleep and frequent the vacant city property next to the campground and the beach public areas across the street. They wander through the campground late at night to use the restrooms and showers. The campground is what it is: a cheap place for a family to stay in South Lake Tahoe w/o having to stay in an expensive hotel or condo.

$45
Nice In Nature
I spend one night here in June. For a electric site with shared water I was charged $45.
It's close to the lake, you can even see the lake from the site. The bathrooms are OK, could use an upgrade, the showers are weak with awful shower heads. The volunteers at the gate were all very nice and helpful but the staff was a bit slow and gave me a site which was already taken at first. I had to go back. There park is full of a younger crowd, many families and kids. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
