Fossil Falls Campground
Very nice, drive slow - dirt roads. Pay booth is clear in the back.

Quiet and sparse campers. An excellent bargain for seniors $3.

Beautiful stay
Easy to find off Hwy 395! $6 a night! No hookups. No water. We drove in about 1:30 and there were 2 people there. Only 1 more came in after us. It was so quiet and peaceful. The spots are nicely spread out for privacy. We had a beautiful sunset. There were walking trails, and lava rocks to climb. It's just down the road from the Fossil Flows Picnic area, where there was one pit toilet. Each site had a table and fire pit. There were tent only sites as well. Will definitely stay here again if in the area. Our first experience on BLM land could not have been better!

Must See For Yourself!
Thinking about doing some primitive camping? Start here. This place is beautiful, not far from the road, and has cell service so you can Netflix and Chill. The restrooms are a good quarter mile from some camp sites so poop early. There is a water well with a manual pump in case you need to collect water. The only downside I can think of is the large rocks spread through the area that make maneuvering at night a pain in the butt.

Love this spot!
I have stayed here multiple times. Mostly we would stay there to do some rock climbing on the nearby lava flows but I have stayed there other times as well. Last yime I was there was a few years ago and it was awesome to see them put in accesibility upgrades. There is a well pump for water.

I saw the sign to Fossil Falls on the way home from Lake Diaz and decided to check it out. What I saw was enough to make me want to come back and take a closer look. Campgrounds were primitive but well maintained they have tables, vault bathrooms, and fire pits.

Fossil Falls
I did not stay here but I stopped to check it out. It's clean and looks like a great place to camp. If you have a trailer, the road around the campsites has many sharp rocks and tight turns. Anything longer than 25' may have problems. No shade or water from what I could tell. I'm sure it's hot during the summer months. Definitely worth the stop.
