Good Place To Stay

Gold Country Campground is nice. We drove in on Friday and found our spot. The map isn't exactly to scale and we missed the easier entry, but there are plenty of ways to work around that. It's a little dated here but there is a lot of charm in that. The spot we chose required a lot of leveling blocks, but that doesn't appear to be the norm as everyone else had "normal amounts" to level. A lot of people obviously camp here in groups, and the folks here are very friendly. The town is a few minutes drive for any supplies or missing items. A lake down the same road offered a beautiful hike, but its not for swimming. Overall, this is a nice place to stay.

Hard to find sites. I would be nice if they offered to guide you to your site especially when you have a big Rv. Wanted to stay more than 7days but you can only do that in Full time area.

Tent to lake tahoe

We booked on labor day long weekend. Good place to lake tahoe, about two hours, not bad. Facility need update here. We live in site 104. We went there in late night. It is hard to find , we drive to dog park! Please have a sign do not enter. It is a big slope to dog park. Please add more trash can.

Splash Park Down But Fun!

Great clean pool, splash park is down, going to a movie night night at the campground. If you have a bigger TT or rv get the Deluxe spot. We have a 30.8 and it’s so tight with slide out that we have zero patio. Luckily we can crash on bro in laws pad since he has a small like half our size TT with a deluxe spot. Deluxe spot comes with a fire pit with no grates. So don’t expect to use it to cook or anything. It’s dinky and moveable. Didn’t hook up to cable so can’t speak on that. They have a better WiFi if you pay 5.00 per spot. We didn’t cause we get excellent cell service. But I guess it would be great for like a Hulu on your tv or Netflix. Look forward to checking out the hiking trails later today. All and all it’s a great, safe, family camping spot with a lot of respectful nice neighboring campers. We look forward to making it a yearly trip we do and last minute open spots seem to happen here. Oh the best full hook up spot is.....: 66!!!!! So try and reserve that one!

We're Back...

***Delayed review; trip dates Dec 22nd to 26th 2016*** This was our 9 or 10 trip to Gold Country Campground in the last 2 years and we were glad to have spent our Christmas Weekend here. I believe going camping will become our new holiday tradition and most likely we will spend it back at Gold Country. Campground is under new ownership, wish I would have known it was for sale, I would have bought it, and the new owners are working to fix the place up. So ya, it will take them some time but that is alright be me; we will come stay regardless. And a special shoutout to Meredith and Katie who work the office for always making us feel welcome. See ya next trip!!!

Nice place but needs some work to fix some things clean out dead trees. Couldn't have fires because of the trees miniature golf needs alot of work
