This is a very nice lake and campground. It is convenient for us as we live nearby. No hookups, but water and vault toilets are available. It is quiet and relaxing with one exception.
The camp host in site 20 is a inconsiderate slob who runs a generator most of the day, spoiling the serenity of the environment and your enjoyment of getting away. We ask her if it was necessary to run it allday and her reply was that she could run it until 10pm (Quiet Time). I don't know why they allow clods like this to run the camp ground. If you stay there move as far away from her site as possible or you will be listening to a generator the whole time, spoiling what camping is for.

I Would Visit But Not Camp Overnight
Big Gap campground is a very nice. The lake was very pretty and calm. We were disappointed in the fellow campers there unfortunately. Even tho there was a designated trail 20 yards away. They would walk straight through our sight to go to the lake. What is wrong with people these days? We also had an issue the following day due to the fact that there was no camp host. We showed up early on a fri & picked a campsite that was open. We paid for two nights but the following afternoon a gentleman showed up saying he had reservations for the following 3 days. He did have confirmation and I explained the sight had no reservation posted. Long story short.... We gave up our sight to this
family but still have not received a refund.
