Impressed First Timers
We had low expectations based on some of the reviews here but this is a beautiful location and a clean RV Park with major new improvements. There are new rental cabins that look very nice, we saw cleaning and trash removal daily and the restaurant/bar makes great burgers at a reasonable price considering you are off the grid. Speaking of off the grid, the electricity is via diesel generator which was fine for our 20 year old diesel pusher. There is WiFi but don’t expect anything more than email and texting. I was able to download some websites when the Park was almost empty but it was slow. No worse than other RV parks. The vistas are amazing. We cancelled going to Stovepipe Wells because Panamint was much prettier. There is a dirt and rock airstrip behind the restaurant and it was fun to watch a twin engine plane land on the challenging sloped runway (land uphill, take off downhill). Darwin Falls is a short drive and easy hike west of the location. We will be back again soon.

Loose Use Of The Word "Resort"
We stayed here 2 nights in May 2018. I would never consider calling this place a "resort" because to me it means nice, with amenities, pleasant. However, by Webster's definition it could be considered a resort. The RV park was as described - rustic, which I don't mind. It's not just gravel though, there are many large rocks throughout. The place itself isn't bad and we probably would've liked it more if the employees there were more polite. As mentioned elsewhere, you register at the gas station across the street. So u wait while they wait on gas customers, etc. There were 2 guys working. One was doing the bulk of the work while the other stocked shelves, etc. while customers waited. They say they don't take reservations but yet they told us the full hookup sites were taken when there were 4 vacant ones! They said they were "paid in advance" - sounds like a reservation to me! They're the only game in town, so.... No cell or wifi service.

Sweet Place In The Middle Of Nowhere
This is the best RV campground in the Death Valley National Park. It's 45 to 90 minutes from all the sites of Death Valley. Registration for the campground is located at the gas station. We were able to park our 40ft rig easily in the pull thru site and park our Jeep next to us. Not much room left for a campfire or lounging at the picnic table. The sites are narrow but there are pretty bushes & flowering shrubs between the sites to add a little privacy. The bathrooms were clean and someone came around regularly to empty the trash & recycling. There's a nice little bar/restaurant across the street that has great food! The owner stopped by to talk and give us some info to site seeing. Nice family owned place that is clean and well kept. Of all the places we drove around, this place is hidden from the dust storms and most of the heavy wind blowing around the lower elevations resorts. No cell service or wifi in the area, so enjoy the view & company you have with you!

RV Owner
This RV park is a great little place to stay in the Death Valley area compared to the others about 40 miles east. It is in a no light/low light area and if you go out at night the view of the night sky will take your breath away. The office is at the gas station across the street from the entrance. No Wi-Fi but who cares with thus view. Also cell service is a no go for AT&T but if you go down the road east for a mile you get good service.
