Love It!
It's a great park! Full connections area is easier with large rigs & class A's level easier to move around paved - E/W only sites are more of a rustic camp style. It's old and had lots of lumpy paved sites. Can be un level and tight- but not a big deal for tiny rigs & tents.
I would certainly recommend this spot.

Not a good stay
Pettit Jean SP is by all rights a super good park with friendly staff and many trails to hike and vistas to see. Unfortunately only a very small number of camp sites have shade. And that made for an absolutely miserable 4 nights. Daytime temps reached high 90s. My ac could not keep up. Moved to Toad Suck and bang. Total shade at my site as well as many others. No problem with the ac. Also the grounds could have used some mowing. Because of lack of shade, I will only come back during cool to cold weather.

Well-designed Campground
The campground is in pine forest with no understory vegetation, so no sense of privacy. Many of the sites are shaded by the pine trees. Our site 41 in area B had fewer pine trees and was sunny most of the day. Except when a site is right across the street, the sites are well-spaced and very nicely laid out with full hookups. There are 4 individual rest room/showers in our section which are nicely designed and clean. There is a paved 1 3/4 mile hike/bike trail that starts at the campground and a variety of hiking trails in the park.

Card man
Great camp and quite a lot to see. We had full hookups with no problems. All sites asphalt with pull through and back in. Need some leveling. Clean restroom/shower. No bugs and we were next to lake. Plenty of CCC work to see. The story of park is also quite a story. Easy and difficult hikes. Make sure the water fall is flowing before you make this hike. Must watch for sites on trail as they are not marked. Overall very good.

Beautiful Park and A Great Place To Go!
Beautiful State Park. I have been going there since I was a child and it’s nicer now than it was then! Checkout the lodge and all the great hiking!

Great place to Camp
The A loop is on the small lake and has full hook ups and upgraded level pads. Other loops are in wooded areas with water and electric. Sites very spacious. Some sites need updated regarding rough pavement. This is a gorgeous park with lots of outdoor stuff to do. Friendly staff and a beautiful quiet setting. It's great!

Nice Getaway
We stayed for a week at Petit Jean in our 5th wheel. Very nice park with a lot of trails. Kids had a great time fishing. The only improvement I could recommend is to allow campers to pay a set fee for the pool. It can get expensive for a family at $5.00 a person per day...
