Hidden Gem
At first we weren’t highly impressed. Our site was paved but very unlevel, the fire pit had lots of ash, burnt cans, and broken glass. The camp area also had broken glass under the table. After getting level (lifted one side about 5 inches), picking up the trash, and shoveling the fire pit we quickly changed our minds. The park is a great hidden treasure. The sites each have a covered picnic table and all have plenty of space with very long paved pads. I will add that sites 2 and 3 seemed to be the only that were that unlevel BUT in our opinion, sites 1-3 are the best as they sit up while the others are past the boat launch, are a little more crowded and sit in bottomland. The area is known for great fishing. We did not fish but I’ll assume this is correct by the number of boats we saw. There is a lovely hiking trail that is well marked once on it but the trail head is not well marked. The trail takes you through several different terrains with views of the limestone bluffs.

Family
My family and I went here thinking it would be good fishing. However the river banks were all grown up and the Mosquitos were aweful! We could not enjoy the outdoors from all the Mosquitos. We had repellant, candles and spray nothing helped. Park was clean. Nice people.
