Free...Interesting

South side of Hwy down in a little valley. Unknown water source seems to flow into an area of the park at random times which makes for some deep ruts. Small area for small Rigs or tents. Interesting area to hike; A short hike revels spectacular displays of huge balancing boulders by Mother Earth! Seems there’s ‘tension’ between those who want the park saved...possibly from the copper mine which is ‘chewing’ into the surrounding area. Pit toilets need TLC but reasonably clean.

Oak Flats Campground

Kind of rough. Road is washing out. Campers were a little sketchy. We not stay. So sorry looked like it could have been nice

Visit So We Ca. Save It

This is a beautiful campground with lots of trees and open fields to play sunbathe or just bask in the great nature all around you. I even took my dog and he had a great time. Sadly this area is in danger of being overtaken by copper mining. Let's save Oak Flat so that we can continue to enjoy it.
