Out in the middle of nowhere, this campground is nice enough on the Alabama River. Quiet and respectful. Not particularly clean or well kept up but it serviced us just fine.

Quiet With Great Fishing
Stayed here for 9 nights in Nov 2022. Cost was $34 a night but we had full hookup! RV sites are intermingled with rental cabins. Most are back-in and shaded but a few are pull-thru and some sites have an overlook view of the water. Keep in mind that the shower house (which was very clean and had plenty of hot water) is located across the road from the office check-in building (where they also sell a few groceries and fishing items) so it could be a bit of a hike if you need a shower. There are toilet buildings scattered throughout the campground. There is also a private primitive camping area. Most importantly (to me!), there is a very nice boat ramp (although the security light was out) which provides easy access for fishing the Alabama River and a new T-shaped fishing pier within the park (watch for alligators). We saw deer and turkey and enjoyed the gorgeous fall leaves. Town is about 10 min away with supermarkets, dollar stores and the Black Belt Treasures Cultural Art Center.

Drove up here with my spouse on a Sunday. Gas ⛽️ were open but the store was not. These directions are closed. With no signs saying closed until we got to it.

Enjoyed The Weekend
Able to reserve online. 30 for full hookup. Sites level, some pull through. Even though it was the 4th of july, Sue and Donnie were able to move things so that my brother could be in the next space. Boat dock in the park made it easy to access the river. Quiet, clean, friendly. Spaces easy to get into. We will be back.
