Between the ferry ride (price based on rig size ours was $120 round trip for truck + 20’ TT), $30 for Wisconsin state park pass, plus camping fees this was a very expensive stay. No dump station in park, was at the airport about 10 min drive away and water was only accessible at water fountains where you can hook your hose up to the faucet.
This park was very beautiful and well maintained.

Big Bay State Park
We decided on this campground at the last minute. We had been camping on the "mainland" of Wisconsin where temperatures were in the high 80's and 90's we saw the forecast for Madelaine Island was in the 70's, so we called and reserved a spot as they do fill up. Campground is very quiet during the day as most folks venture out to sightsee. We liked it so much, we are now camp hosts at the park! Our site was very shaded, and quite large for out camper, screen tent (low mosquitoes and no stable flies while we were there) and camper awning. Showers and toilets were clean, as were the vault toilets. Trash and recycling were emptied everyday. Short walk to the beach (gorgeous) and a 2+ mile boardwalk that we did in the rain, lots of birds and wild life. Stay to the outer loop if you want maximum privacy. Pros: -Get to take a cool ferry out to the island - They will haul ANY size camper, when we made the trip, we were parked next to a full size semi! -Outer loop sites are indeed private! -No
