This is a great basecamp and jump-off to Mt. Rainier… only 16 miles to the National Park entrance gate. The town of Elbe is just a mile or two down the road. New owners of this campground in the last year have made many improvements including adding gravel throughout the entire campground and within all the sites. Wonderful owner and host, ‘Tom’. Nice restrooms, and an inviting gift shop complete with regional wines. There’s a huge meadow adjacent to the camping, just across a short footbridge over a serene creek. The stars are amazing from the meadow! This campground is in the woods with tall trees, but sites are reasonably spacious and the grounds are definitely a retreat from the busy world. Power and water only hook-ups with a funky sewer dump on your way out. Sewer dump location was my only head-scratcher, especially with a big-rig or long trailer/ 5th wheel.
