First Camping Trip
Only about 1:15 minutes from our home in VB, I don't think I could have asked for a better beginning. Easy to check in and easy to locate the site. Side B sites are paved and level. Side A sites not paved and mostly level. Quiet place probably 50% full just before fall 2023.Toured the farm plantation with old tractors and saw mill equiptment. We took the ferry across to Williamsburg.Saw a glass blowing demo and the old pilgrims boats. Rode through the visitors center and through the nature park. Chippokes also is on the James River which you can go to the beach at the visitors center and look for fossils as well. We didn't stay but 3 days but it was a perfect park and perfect beginning. Side B is the choice for me. They did have a pool but it was under maintenance so not sure even if it was in service.

Turned Away...
Called a week and a half in advance and they said no problem. Got there and got turned away because they were paving. Had to spend the night in a grocery store parking lot and find another site 80 miles away and much more expensive.

Fantastic
The nicest state park I’ve been to yet. Bath houses were clean, large sites especially if you get 1 of the reserved ones, good bike riding thru the plantation, beaches to explore and swim. We went in May and went to a local farm and picked strawberries, fantastic weekend will definitely be back!
