We loved our night stay here. This park has amazing trails. It's a wonderful place for birding. By the river there's bluebird nesting. We didn't hear any trains and didn't even see tracks like in other review. We made reservations day of for red oak loop. Sites are huge and nestled in trees. Dogwoods were in bloom.

Ok Until Night
Cute park but quickly became a terrible night of camping. Train came by, RIGHT by every 20 mins full of coal. We got up, packed and left in the night it was so loud and disturbing

Great Sites & Trails
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on 1-3 Nov 2017. The park is beautiful (see my 4 fall pics starting with silver T@B trailer & van); the sites are some of the best I've seen (spacious enough to feel privacy & enjoy views of the surrounding woods instead of the backside of your neighbor's RV); and the trails are beautiful, especially the view at the Tye River Overlook (again, see photos). The park is also within an hours drive of the beautiful Crabtree Falls on Rte 56 to the west.

We love this park!!! The sites are big and roomy. Most sites have lots of trees surrounding you so you don't see your neighbors. They have the canoe Livery on site for you to float the James River and very little light pollution so you can really see the stars! They have many great hiking trails and if you go have to do the Tye River overlook!!!!
