Friendly, Clean, With Lots To Do
A quick one night stay but the park was very nice. Able to maneuver very well, on the lower level. We were next to Stockton Creek which made it very nice. Lots of activities both on and off the park. Local breweries, wineries and of course Monticello. The park has a large community area, a game room and a nice store. It even has a large bouncing pad for kids. It’s a great family park.We plan to go back when we can spend more time.

Nice Campground....but
They seem to be regulating the water, around 8pm each night in a row had no water, same around 3am when getting up to use restroom. next morning miraculously had water with great pressure. Wouldn’t be so bad but it was 95 degrees out with 100% humidity. I would go back but I would definitely put some water in fresh water tank just in case.

Great Campground
Just a mile from Route 64. 5 miles from the Skyline Drive. 20 minutes from Monticello.
Just came for one night. On our way to VA Beach. If we had known how jive it was just would have stayed here for a few days.
Site 67 up the hill. Pull through for our 20 foot trailer fine. Total set up length for us is 43 feet. Had to unhook and park behind the trailer due to the nice deck they have on the site. Not a real issue cause we un hooked to drive to local attractions.
The sites across the river and up the hill are quiet and nice. Nice bike ride down to the main campus. But a steep bike ride back up.
Pool area closed as of our days for C-19. Jump area open and dog park and playgrounds all open.
Laundry facility was great. $1.50 wash $1.50 dry.
Store is nice too. Staff real nice.
Lots to do just at this site. Next time we will stay longer.

Good Campground, Ideal To Skyline Drive
Nice location. Stayed in October. The pull thru spots up front are level and easy, but a bit tight w/o much character. The laundry room was very nice. Lots to do here for the family, but we were only here a quick stay. Helpful, friendly staff. We would stay here again, but might also look around.

Very nice and clean. If you want to be more rustic feeling ask to be up on the mountain. That's where we were and loved it! Below is open without much shade and they are expanding. Very nice staff! Close to historical sites.

Nice Campground
We stayed here in early May for 2 nights, and made reservations the day of while driving down the road. The campground is clean and maintained. They told us about the construction area when we called so we could choose a site away from it. The bath houses are plentiful and nice and clean. Each shower room has its own locked entry with sink and toilet. Front desk was always helpful, and they have a little store that carried some RV and camping essentials. There is a playground (it’s right next to the muddy construction right now, but it is intact) and a volleyball court which our 4 kids enjoyed. My only complaint was the employees smoking by the front door of registration/store. I really dislike having to walk through the smell and smoke. We would stay here again, though, if passing through.

Poor Service
We reserved a spot on the ridge for privacy with some shade a good 6 months before our trip. They have construction work going on and gave our site away to one of the workers without letting us know until we arrived. Put us in a site with NO privacy. And the highway noise was quite loud and constant. Thank god we weren’t put in a site that backs up to the highway. We would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Good Stay In February 2019
Only a hand full of people so peaceful. Beautiful grounds. Very well maintained. Good spot between Charlottesville and Shenandoah Natl Park

This was our first time camping at Misty Mountain. Two of the ladies on staff were so very helpful arranging adjoining campsites so we could be near our son and his family on their first camping trip with their new RV. They were wonderful and accommodating. There were many fun activities for kids to do as well as adults...a lot of nearby wineries to visit. Beautiful area! We would love to go back!

Great first trip
The was our very first time using our travel trailer. Decided to take a short trip, just to get used to everything. The camp ground are nice and well kept. Plenty for the kids to do. Inflatable bounce pad, 2 playgrounds. Plenty of walking and hiking. The creek sites are really nice. The staff seemed very friendly, we had no issues with customer service. Our only issue was the kids driving the golf karts around. It was constant sometimes speeding. They definitely were not old enough to have a license which it states in the campground rules that gold karts can only be driven by licensed adults. That’s the only issue we had with the place.

Repeat customer
My husband and I first stayed here on the lower level in our pop up, along the creek. Our site was level and shaded, though the fire pit was a little awkward. It was near the road, not near the creek, and I felt it was actually too close to our neighbor, but there were no problems. The second time we stayed, we took the pop up to the upper level (which involved a steep switch back style turn, something an RV driver might want to consider) and we loved our wooded site. It was very peaceful and quiet up there. The lower level sees more foot and vehicle traffic, and the family activities are down there. The bathrooms for the lower level are nicer (individual bathroom with shower, there are 5 plus 1 handicap), the upper was 3 stalls and 3 showers but zero ventilation so the mirrors are always fogged up and the room stays very humid while showers are going. I frequently saw ladies propping the door open with a trash can. We have always seen the same helpful lady in the office.

Music Festival
2017 was our first and last music festival. Misty mountain was great, very well organized. But the music was the music was nothing but local bar bands singing there own songs that most people don't know. It was clear the crowd was never into the music, just standing around drinking, very little if any dancing. Very disappointed there was no country music, only a little bluegrass, jazz, hard rock, and guitar soloists that we could have done with out. Never heard any signers that were mentionable out of 2 days. Won't be going again. But we love Misty mountain.

Very Rude! Avoid This Place!
After the Virginia governor declared a state of emergency due to the riots in Charlottesville on 8/12/17, we decided to cancel our trip four days before our arrival. When calling the campground, the gentleman taking the call was quite rude and said you will lose your deposit. I stated there is a state of emergency! He said his boss won't permit it. After he conferred with his boss, he said "nope, you lose your deposit." Nice. I love businesses that cater to their clients. Well, we don't need this kind of treatment. We were looking forward to a nice trip but I will NEVER go to this campground. I advise you to do the same.

Great Close To Everything Stop
I have been coming here off and on for the past 10 years. Twice in a tent, twice in an (overpriced) cabin, and now finally in my RV. It is a great facility, clean grounds, easy to get to.
One of my peeves are bad customer service and three out of all three visits to the front desk, the man at the counter could not be bothered to look up and make eye contact with us while we were asking questions.
Maybe he needed to catch up on his Facebook or something? Make eye contact with your customers, geez. We are the ones that make sure you have a paycheck, after all.
I'll definitely be back, thankfully I don't come here to make conversation with the front desk, ... there is none.

Misty mountain Camp Resort
Very nice, clean. Only stayed one night as a quick stop. Quiet. Just what we wanted a safe overnight place to park.

Nice Location
Nice campground and location. Harris Teeter grocery only 5 minutes away if you need provisions and 10 miles from Waynesboro or Charlottesville, VA. Sites are a bit crowded on the lower level. Full hook ups and dog friendly.
