Great Gem in the Mountains!
We saw this park on the Park Advisor app and after talking to Jessica, the very friendly and helpful owner, we decided to stay. We were not disappointed! A beautiful park, with excellent amenities and great views of the mountains. Nice folks who are permanents and it’s close to Big Stone Gap and other area attractions. We highly recommend and look forward to being back soon!!

Clean, Antique, Fun
Family of 6 stopped for the night. Clean, friendly, and easy pull through spots. Full hookup with 30/50 amp at every site. Nice bathrooms and showers. Don’t take the sketchy bridge like the gps may suggest. There is a second entrance off Shawnee Ave; at Ninth St S.
Loved the vibe. Nice walking path close by. Beautiful views of the mountains surrounding you.
Only bummer was the laundry room not working.

Nice Camp Ground.
Stayed 4 nights last week of June.
Arrived at campground Sunday afternoon to find office locked. Note on door had phone numbers which I called and got the owner. I told him I was there to check in, he said pick a spot any spot and set up get comfortable and I'll catch you tomorrow. We picked a pull through spot 50 amp with water sewer & cable..well its a cable hookup..better tv on antenna.
Really nice park and great staff. Close to a creek and there is a city Greenway that goes by park. With this Greenway you can walk or bike several miles.
Wonderful owners. Level gravel sites . Only complaint was the cable, but who needs tv?

Have spent 4 days here, passing through. Lovely CP, extremely laid back owner. Sites reasonable. Not a tremendous amount of tree coverage. Town is lovely. Would recommend the trail that goes through the campground and around the town. 3.5 min loop, mostly along the river. Loved the Soutwestern VA Historical Museum. This works as a destination as well as a pass through. We met more of our fellow travelers here than usual and found everyone delightful

Passing Through
We were stopping for one night, but stayed three nights. The owner, John is the most gracious host & his campground attracts the most hospitable campers. WiFi, cable tv and all hookups were perfect. We would definitely return.

Jewel Of The Mountains
Just spent 5 days here. Beautiful scenery and John the manager is one of the nicest fellows you will ever meet. The town of Stone Gap is small but it is like stepping back in time. The towns people were very friendly, and inviting to guests. If you are looking for a quite, scenic, and restful campground, then Jessie Lea is what you are looking for.
