Thank God For Friendly Walmarts...
This is downtown, and a little busy and crowded. But perfect. Got here just at sunset.

Nice Overnight Sleep
We slept here last night June 13, 2023 and it was very safe. No one bothered us. The Walmart closes at 11 and opens at 6 am. The trains nearby are loud but we were so tired we slept thru it.

Just spent the night at this Walmart, and can offer this advisory: an Amtrak locomotive pulling a handful of cars was not just parked at the train station, but idled loudly ALL night long, driving us bonkers. Three types of sounds: a deep growling rumble, plus a kind of whine, and occasional blasts of air. I’m not even sure this is Walmart property.
We appreciate Walmart’s hospitality that we have accepted multiple times to boondock, but dearly wish the customer service desk would have given us a head’s up.
But yes, ultimately it is my fault for not having been more aware of our surroundings when we pulled in at nightfall.

After doing some Google searches I found that a few people on AllStays were staying here with no issue - add me to the list. It is a downtown location so there is noise and a bit more risk for people to mess with you but I didn't really have issues at all. Make sure you park in the WALMART parking lot DIRECTLY ADJACENT the AMTRAK station parking lot. Yes, there are signs in that area for parking over 3 hours but I saw the cops as they were patrollijng the lot several times and never got a knock on my door much less a citation or a tow! I also never left the RV parked without me in it for more than an hour while the Walmart was open.
I'm in a converted school bus ~22ft long btw
