First timers at East Canyon but certainly not last. Overall facilities through the park are good to very good. We stayed in the Big Rock campground which is primarily tent only. It has a good size day use area as well. Clean vault toilets and clean areas throughout. Very quiet and hardly booked. Probably due to the heat. The water level is scarily low. Only one nite time visitor, a raccoon who doesn't like spicy Doritos.

Loved this place. For RVers that dislike the usual RV park, this is a must stop. Quiet, dark starry nights, and a beautiful reservoir and mountains to look out at, with full hookups! My only complaint is not enough trees, but they’ve got some planted so they are thinking ahead!

Beautiful Area
We were very blessed to have a beautiful place to sleep that night. The camp ground sign said that it was full, but we were tired so we asked at the gate if there are any more spaces. He directed us to the camp host to ask. The camp host said there were two spaces left, so we took the closest one. We had a beautiful view of the lake. There were a lot of people in the day use area using the lake. We had no one on either side of us. I guess they were no shows! The people in the campground were nice and quiet and polite, so we slept well! We would probably go out of our way to stay here again! The drive there was really pretty, and the drive out, if you continue around the lake, is absolutely beautiful! Be careful of the deer crossing the road. There were two little fawns standing in the middle of the road and would not move until my husband honked at them. Poor babies need to learn quickly not to stand in the road.

New Campsite
A new campsite that will be beautiful in about 15 years. Lots of newly planted trees. Concrete pads. All very new and very nice. When we arrived in the evening, on the facilities was a herd of grazing mule deer that barely looked up as we drove by. Lovely.
