Did not expect the park to be this nice. They recently opened a new section with new bathroom and shower facilities that are some of the nicest facilities that we have used. Staff was very pleasant. We would still consider the park small with the new section opened. Truly enjoyed the Petrified Forest hike right there in the park. Lake activities within a few yards for everyone in the park to enjoy. We will be back when we return to do additional hiking in the Escalante area.

Gorgeous Small Campground
It's very popular. We had reservations. The sites around the top circle are good for tents and vans. We were down in front of reservoir with electric/water hookups. Showers are 8 min. and free. Nice little ranger store. Ice and wood available. The petrified wood trail was moderate but well worth the hike. We kayaked in the reservoir with many ducks. Lots of algae now, water low, but still had fish.
Very nice campground.

Clean And Quiet
Like all Utah parks, no WiFi and little cell coverage. Would not recommend as destination camping, but it is clean and was a convenient stopping point for us

Pleasant Nook
Small park set in wide an open space, situated next to reservoir. Short educational trail with examples of petrified fossils and a covered picnic area. Or you can challenge yourself to an uphill hike to Petrified Forest. Very clean and quiet facility. We will come back. Good location between the National and Utah State Parks.
