Something’s Missing.
Arrived 7/20 to find out the Wi-Fi is down. Have to go to Mc Donald’s to get my work done because AT&T hotspot is slower than a turtle. No timeframe provided for when it will be available.
Pool is closed due to Construction debris that has blown in. Pool must be drained. Again no estimate of when it will be available again.
Sites do have a small paver patio with picnic table but vehicle and RV sites are gravel. Sites are just barely wide enough for 4 slides and my site has shrubs that rub against my unit day and night.
Water, electric, and sewer appear to work fine and trash pickup is prompt when bagged and placed on street.
Price is normal for the area, but the lack of amenities that you pay for and are not available warrants a 2 star downgrade.

Clean, good location
We got a spot with patio slap, neighbors were a little close, private pier but no fishing on it. Place is clean, people are very nice. It's in a good location, easy to get around town.

Very Nice Campground
We spent 2 weeks in the latter part of Jan 2021. We have a 27’ TT. Our site was easy to back into and was quite. We see some of the sites for the class A rigs were cozy; however, they all seemed to be staying for a while. CG had a variety of events, influenced by COVID restrictions. Our first trip to SPI. Great visit. Will go again and maybe for a longer stay.

Stayed 3 days. Spaces are packed in so you are very close to the people around you. Nice bathrooms and laundry facilities. There is a pretty good restaurant next to the park.

Great Place!
The grounds are well maintained and staff is friendly. Loved our site, the pool, and proximity to everything. Will stay again.

Clean and well kept
Spent January of 2020 here. This is a well kept park, stone patios, no sand burrs (lots at Isla Blanca). The pool and the restaurant are icing on the cake. I use a verizon and boost hotspot here for best speeds.

KOA
It’s a KOA. Staff is friendly and experienced. This is owned by Koa. Trash pickup. Yeah!
WiFi weak, At&T weak. Close sites. No palm trees blocking Directv. Great location. Toured Isla Blanca park, it looked dismal by comparison. Laundry was rated good.
GREAT pool. South padre, hard to frown. Stayed 10 nights in April. About $60 per night.

Terrific Spot
It’s a wonderful clean RV Park. The RVs are packed in and most are the Winter Texans but we pull a 20’ R Pod and scored a lovely private spacious corner lot!!! #85. (Gravel: and we have no problems with it). Love It. Landscaping is strategic for privacy. The staff have been very helpful; they held our spot without charge, for the weekend in the event we wanted to extend. So easy to go out at night to the Brewery or Laguna Bob’s (wonderful Mahi Mahi sandwich) to watch the sunset AND they have a Pier 19 Restaurant on the KOA property. We did not eat at Pier 19 but the parking lot looked like a lot of people did go. There is only one other very small RV/campground on SPI. To have this monopoly; KOA does not disappoint.

Terrible Campground
This is the tightest campground I have ever been in. Their greed has ruined this place by squeezing way too many sites in the space they have. Staff had no time for us...only for the people staying for the season. We moved over to Isla Blanca Park and recommend it over the KOA. There is no grass, pavement and crushed gravel. I don’t understand why anyone would stay here.

Adequate, But Not Five Star
I had seen 4-to-5 star ratings on other sites, but this park does not meet that standard. The sites are not paved, but not only that, they are covered with ROCKS (the size of river rock used in landscaping), not fine crushed gravel used for paving. This is all there is on the sites — no paved patio, no grass. It is very hard to walk on, even in the sturdiest of shoes, let alone flip flops or sandals. I can’t imagine trying to set up folding chairs or other outdoor items.
The picnic table is very weathered, and the benches sag badly.
We were escorted to our site, but we were not assisted in lining up our 5’er. While that isn’t necessary in most pull-through sites, this site is at an odd angle, and is not long enough to park the coach and truck in line. We could not get the truck on the site the first night, and had to do considerable maneuvering the next day to get the 5’er and truck to fit.
I have stayed at a true 5-star RV resort; while this is not 5-star, it is adequate.

Truly Enjoyed
The campground is clean & organized. Workers are helpful & polite. We had some great pool & beach days. The town has much to offer. We will gladly return.

South Padre KOA
We stayed here for a week in January of 2016 with a 31' class C pulling a Mini Cooper on a tow dolly. It was sunny and warm. There is a nice pool and hot tub.
We arrived without reservations but I would recommend having them because it was pretty full the whole time we were there.

Very Noisy Stay
This was our first visit to this KOA. It is a very nice place. I am a value card member and I do appreciate the discounts. I do have one concern about this KOA. There were plenty of spots available, but we were placed at the main entrance where the traffic is very heavy a good bit of the time. I think we will find a different RV park next time.

Beautiful Place
This was our first weekend at the SPI KOA and loved it. Everyone was very friendly, the staff was extremely helpful and the whole area was clean. The playground was shut down which made me a little sad but they are working on it so that is exciting for our next trip out here. The sites are a tight fit compared to other parks we have been but the location, friendliness and cleanliness made up for that. The showers and pool were squeaky clean and there was a nice area to chill and play board games with the kids. The place is pet friendly and they even have a dog play area, pretty cool! Overall it was awesome and we will book again soon.
