Not What It Once Was

This park is going down hill, not being kept up the way other parks are. Also be aware that they charge a day use fee to use the lake. Even if you are staying at the campground.

Like the area and lake but campground needs some TLC. Bathhouses aren’t being cleaned, spider webs all in bathhouse. Had been mowed but needed grass blown off campsites. The maintenance of a campground can make or break it. Would be a great campground if it was taken care of. Also needs to enforce dogs on leash.

Scenery is nice, water is warm. Trash left on our site as well as other sites. In serious need of maintenance: weeds everywhere, not mowed, goose poop all over the swimming area, dirty swim diapers, cups, trash left in day-use areas. Not for big rigs. Gravel sites are fairly close together and are not really appropriate for tents. Water/electric worked fine. Be aware: the local roads that your gps suggests can be narrow, hilly, and twisty.

Seem to have more emphasis on day use areas. Updated restrooms are nice. Lots of trash in the camping area and picnic areas. Hadn't been mowed in most areas. Old park showing it's age. Store has nothing but wood. No ice, bait, or camping supplies. Come prepared. Nice hiking trails. Plenty of spots to fish. Lake sites have little shade.
