Great state park! We stayed in campground 2. Easy in and out. Nice sites with nice picnic table and fire ring.

Awesome Camping!
Great camping! Be sure to check out the site photos and descriptions before booking. Some are very short! I was in B 16 which had a slight decline down to the back but not difficult to level at all. I had the creek running behind me. Neighbors were nicely spaced apart. Clean bathrooms. Nice restaurant. Really great museum!

Excellent
Section #2 space 60. Appears that a lot of upgrades have been done. Excellent paved roads, paved and concrete pad with ornamental fence around the back of the pad. Lots of trees and slopes and trails. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Really pretty Park with friendly staff. We booked last minute and got Site 1 in campground one. The road into the site is narrow and uphill on one side, and there are huge trees on each side of the entry into the site.Took a bit of effort to back our 32 ft fifth wheel in, but site is deep and although narrow there were no other trees to hamper slide outs. Close to bathrooms and showers which were clean and adequate. Dump station and dumpster near bathrooms. Drove over to checkout campground two and it is newer but small. Museum was smalI but interesting history. Park is very close to town for groceries and laundry. Dine at the Brass Lantern on East Gaines - ad in park brochure; food was great, staff friendly, and prices very reasonable!

Not Good
Stayed site #20 (B/I on the creek), short pads with average spacing.utilities opposite each other, an on wrong side. Peaceful an quite. Fairly new and clean bath house, a short walk from camp. Looks of little or to no maintenance. grass needed cutting and trimmed. Fire ring full, concrete pads (ours had chalk graffiti). Oh! Campground #1 has no marked traffic direction, got in a squeeze situation on a one way in/out with a 35 ft rig coming out. Museum closed for COVID-19. Cool bird of prey sanctuary, trails of tears runs length of park, also park has good trails rated easy to moderate. Campground #2 is newer and up alittle higher. Roads need some attention. Staff was friendly, and did honor senior discount on site (no full hook)

Social Distancing
Got away for an extended weekend in our RV. This park is beautiful, lots of trails to hike, furbaby friendly, quiet and clean. Level, paved RV sites up to 50ft deep with almost full hookup (Electronic and Water). We will definitely be back again!

Nice campground
We enjoyed our weekend here, our site was very uneven and had trees very close to the parking spot so it was difficult to get the camper in and we weren't able to put the awning out. It was clean, the pool was clean, the trails and waterfall were fun and beautiful. Staff was nice and friendly throughout the park. I do NOT recommend the restaurant, some of the worst food and service I've ever experienced. We would stay here again but probably on campground 2, which has just been renovated and looked amazing.

Campground #2 Site 57
The sites are short, very sloped, and super close to each other. Many sites have large ravines just behind them. Very dangerous with small children. Sites could use some updating and just genral maitenence. Charcoal grill was damaged/falling apart. Fire ring (rocks piled in a circle) was very small. Picnic table was in need of major repair. Bath house was dated but very clean. Electric and water were easily accessible.

Sloped Sites
Bad - very sloped sites, low water pressure, few signs. Good - water and electric ok, got 4G on Verizon, got a few good channels on antenna, nice hikes if you watch the paint on the trees, and looked like an amazing fitness trail.

Beautiful And Friendly
Bath houses are dated but very clean. Park rangers and campground hosts are very friendly. Camp sites are OK, but many are short and some utility connections are hard to reach.
