Lot A Is Awesome!
Stayed here twice, once in B and now in A. Did some recon on last stay and A is the place to be! Paved sites, fairly level, lots of space between sites, wide open space in the middle.

Fun fun
C33 camp site, unlevel, hard to back in, full of weekend worriers building campfires. Bathroom are newbut bad, 4 family types not enough for camp area c, always occupied, no ventilation and a/c turned off. Mostly small sites.

Parking Lot Camping
Disappointing state park that looks like an old ACE cg the state charges more to camp. Sites are crammed together, unlevel, and many are essentially a parking lot area (esp B loop). Free hot showers in very old bathouses (but clean). A zoo on the weekend, and the public can freely come and go without any gate or fee. So many campfires it looked like a war zone, and we couldn't even enjoy being outside much of the time. A few trails that you have to drive to or walk along busy roads to access were not much to write home about. Only if you have a boat and don't spend much time actually "camping" (this is not camping) would this even be worth coming to, and I still would rather go elsewhere. Wanted signs posted of a dog stolen from the campground, and when we were there, a child was nearly abducted. One of the worst state parks we've visited in the 3 years of being nomadic (out of 29 states!). Will not return.

This is a very nice state park with a Awesome lake. Sites are nice, but really not mento for bigger Riggs. I have a 40 MH and it was real hard driving the park, low tree branches which drug over the top of you camper and I had a 57 ft pull thru which I had to back out of, because I couldn’t pull out and make my turn because of trees! Had to back out of it in order to leave!! But it is a nice park your 35 or under

Nice State Park
We stayed in area C which was gravel spots and quite unlevel. Good shade trees. Bathrooms were just ok. Toilet paper was full and showers were hot, not particularly clean though. The marina is close with restaurant. Pool was shut down for being broken(water level was low and completely green). Plenty of places to walk or ride a bike. 4.5 miles bike trail near the restaurant. B lot was paved spots and several were pull through. A lot was paved and near the playground and pool(not working). We would stay here again but probably not in lot C.

Wildlife Galore
If you like watching wildlife, this park is for you. This was the first time in over 30 years of camping we had a red headed woodpecker fly up to our camp site. Cardinals, blue Jay's, ducks, squirrels, raccoons and deer were everywhere. It was a good location for going out to see the many Civil War battle sites and the zoo was close by. Staying at the park is an option with a pool, hiking trails and marina on site. If you have a motorhome or camper, stay in loop A, or be prepared for large amounts of blocking to level your unit.

Great Park With Good Views
Loop A has nice level sites and some water front sites. Would have gave 5 stars if there was full hookups.

Loop A Is Right On The Water
Nice level site (A47) with electric & water. Sites further down have a paver patio with wrought iron fence close to the water. Showers are all inclusive with private toilet & shower. Very nice!

OK But For Us Not Great
Some of the sites are large enough but unfortunately we had a small squeezed in one. Would not recommend loop B where we were. Also had campers across from us who were loud until midnight. When the sites are so close this was not nice. We would stay again if passing through or needing accommodations in the area like we needed for this trip. Would not make it a destination.

Late Arrival
We arrived after 10pm, no ranger on duty. We found our camping spot , we had made reservations on line previous. We had b37 along the lake . Not to bad of a fit for 26 ft toy hauler, with mega cab. It is tight through the trees. Most are pull through sites, gravel, quiet. Clean ,respectful , restrooms are clean.

We Loved It Here
Very nice place to stay. You may want to look before driving in to your site to see the best way to get in if you have a large camper.lots of sites to see. Boating, kayaking, fishing, wildlife. It was very quiet and relaxing.

Sir
Camped right on the water on an asphalt level site close to the bathrooms. Very clean showers that are completely private with a shower, toilet and sink in each room with a door that locks. Has a restaurant called the Dockside Cafe. Very popular on weekends so a bit of a wait, but the good is very good. Staff were courteous and helpful. At $25 per day it was great value and will definitely camp here again.

Nice
This is a nice state park. Rates are cheap and since they repaved the roads and camper spots it is a lot nicer. Close to the lake and several trails to hike. Only real negative is camp stops are tight and the water has a funny taste so bring bottled water to drink

Greatest Place To Stay
This park is beautiful, well-laid out, we-maintained, and easy to use. I only wish it were not so far from our home state. It is less expensive than the other campgrounds we have visited and it has more to offer. Rangers could not have been nicer. A definite return.
