We Celebrated My Birthday

I was impressed with this campground. It was clean and it was just like any other. The sites were asfalt and roomy. The view was awesome. I will place this park on my favorite state parks. I was blessed to have a full hook up.

This is a nice campground but sites are small and very close together. No privacy here anywhere. We had a lakefront site with full hookup which we liked but didn’t like having the neighbors so close. Lots of parties going on the weekend.

Weekday family get together

This is our sixth different park stay at a South Carolina state park. Most folks come weekends to party. We like weekday stays to avoid the crowd and noise. My brother usually stays at private campgrounds. He was okay with the place as it was his first time. I think this park is one of the nicer parks we've seen so far. Sites away from the lake are less desirable so we had no neighbors until Thursday night. Too many cars plus boat trailers could be a problem when the place is crowded. Rangers would probably enforce parking rules on busy weekends. Some sites are quite steep. All sites are paved. We paddled the lake in our inflatable kayak. Winds were fairly strong but not hard to paddle against.

Nice Park.

We booked the site about 4 months in advance and got the last available waterfront site with sewer. Honestly the site was pretty bad, it was tiny and there was a rock sea wall to get down to the water that we wound up avoiding after seeing the snakes in the rocks. Other than the site specifics it was a really nice park with great roads and paved parking pads. We will be back eventually I’m sure. We will just pick out site a little better now that we know which ones are the better ones.

Awesome Park

We stayed at site 56 and LOVED it! If you stay in the bigger loop on the water, you have direct access to the lake. Other campers were able to park their pontoons by their sites. You could put a kayak or canoe in just a few feet from where you are staying! The smaller loop is super packed, but has a boat landing. The park and lake are clean, and all sites are paved. There are great hiking and mountain bike trails. Bathrooms are old but clean, and the women’s bathroom has great water pressure. The only downside would be the proximity of the sites. They are close together and there isn’t much privacy. But there are many sites with sewer access so the bathrooms aren’t too busy. We’ll definitely be back.

State Park with sewer! Clean, access to swimming and your boating. Two camping areas. Camp #1 spacious with some sewer Camp #2 very tight ot less private.

Nice Place

The campground is in goodshape and has a good staff. The only negatives ate the sites being to close together and the bath houses need updating.

Excellent Campground

We have stayed at this campground two different times now and loved it each time. You can get sites right on the water with full hookups and beautiful view. The sites are private and the campground is kept up nicely. We look forward to going back each year.
