Redneck Hoe Down
This is a party place! If you love getting “it in” this is the place for you. It has pros and cons. Lots of amenities but they are just ok. Camp sites are crowded, pool is crowded but nice. Lots of rules like no alcohol at the pool. Bath houses are super clean given the amount of sand everywhere. Beach access is great. Golf carts are expensive and you can’t bring your own. You have to rent from a company on site. Staff is nice but stern. A week was too much. 3 nights max for this place is enough.

Great Park In MBSC
It’s our second time at Pirateland. This is a very good park, well located and well taken care of. I recommend it.

HUGE park!! Definitely will stay again! Location was great. Distance from our site to the beach was maybe 100 yds! The pools were great too! Activities for the kids. Golf cart parade is fun but if you don’t want to listen to the loud music don’t have a site along the main road! Sites were spacious in the premium area with a covered table area was great for shade, easy in and out! We loved it and had a great time!

Enjoyed Our stay
We are fairly new to camping, so didn’t really know what to expect. Great location, right in the beach. We had to back in, but space was big enough. Plenty of room for truck and trailer, suggest you get a premium spot, but not the end spot on the beach side (those spots seemed smaller). We did camp during the 4th of July, so there was a nightly parade of golf carts from dusk until 11pm. There are multiple areas, including areas with mobile homes, long term residents and smaller sites. We didn’t visit the Rec areas, but they have food trucks on different nights. We’d stay again.

Redneck Riviera
Title says it all. They put us in a site that wouldn’t fit both our camper and truck. Then complained about where I had to park my truck. The black water pipe was at the same elevation as the port from my rig so dumping was a total pain. I won’t go back.

Best On Grand Strand
We have camped at every campground in MB area over passed 12 years, Pirateland is the best!! Staff is always helpful and friendly. Amenities are great and beach access is wonderful. We usually do one week in spring, summer, and early fall. Looking forward to our fall trip very soon.

Wonderful Stay!
We were down on the end with a pull thru site. Everyone we met was absolutely wonderful. Beach was amazing and not crowded at all for late July. The golf cart “parade” was so much fun we can’t wait to come back! The back in sites looked a bit crowded but it’s the beach!!!! Already have reserved a site for the next time.

I read a lot of reviews on this site and the complaints I seen on here were the size of the campsites and the noise after quiet time and to be honest I found no problems with either. In fact the sites were great for our camper and screened canopy. The pools were a lot of fun and easy walk to the beach. The cable was great also. The inland areas were great with plenty of shade. We will be definitely going back to Pirateland.

Overall A Nice Place
First, this is an RV Park, not a camp ground. The sites are quite close to each other, but not as close as some other parks in the area. Been here a week with no WiFi service, even at the store/laundromat. The park also appears to be in the flight path of a squadron of C5 Galaxies which can get a bit loud. Finally, I am amazed at the number of dogs here, the constant barking and yapping can get a bit wearing. Very friendly, helpful staff. Trash pick up every morning, newly renovated bath houses, paved streets, miniature golf, and pools contribute to a pleasant stay overall.

Ok For The Weekend, With Some Negatives
A good place to stay. Easy beach access, nice pools (lazy river, splash pools for kids, big pool for others) with clean restrooms, decently clean bath houses, and other amenities to keep a family entertained for the weekend. Shops and dining galore nearby. The negatives: sites very close together, site lawns not mowed, sewer connections stick too high out of ground, cable box rusted, internet connection very spotty, and the golf cart rentals are outrageously expensive. To rent a golf cart cost almost as much as the site rental itself for the weekend (August)! Overall, it's an ok place for the family over the weekend. I wouldn't do a whole week here.

We stayed a week and liked the campground. Everyone I dealt with seemed friendly. The pool and lazy river was awesome. We will go back for sure.

Ahoy Fun!
Good size spaces, ours was not very level and had to break out the levelling blocks. We were close to the beach but the walk to the pool wasn't bad at all. The pool, lazy river and splash pad were a hit. Only consideration is that it gets really really busy at peak times and open chairs can be hard to find. Bathrooms are updated and look great, due to proximity to beach the floors are sandy and dirty almost all of the time. Other than that they're nice. Overall great experience, would definitely recommend and return.

This Is How A Campground Should Be!
Nice level sites with permanent shelters. Well kept with good security and excellent beach access. Quiet at night. Good lighting without being too bright. Nice store and laundry. Two pools, with one inside and heated for cool or inclement weather. Friendly, helpful staff. Make sure of your dates. There is a $25 charge if you want to make a change.

Wow
Great for the kids. Sites are to close. Bathrooms ok. The place really needs to address the kids on golfcarts, noise, and trash (cigarette butt's) . otherwis good.

Very Tight And Crowded
First time at pirateland.... Not impressed. Teens driving golf carts all day and night makes it hard to get where your going around the camp ground.. Packed in like sardines. The golf cart parade was cool the first night.... After that I just kept thinking... We are at the beach, isn't there something better to do than cruise around on a golf cart all days and night. Won't be back.

1st Time To Pirateland!
First time to Pirateland, I must say the drive from Maryland was a little long but I must say also that it was well worth the drive. The camping resort wasn't what I was expecting it was even better then when I expected the weather was great the staff was friendly and the resort was even clean! I would definitely refer at this campground to my friends and I look forward to coming back thank you Pirateland!

Great Campground!
We were lucky enough to come in without a reservation on a vacation week and get a site across the street from the beach! All of the sites are in walking distance of the beach and golf carts are allowed in the campground. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful! Would definitely recommend for a family looking to stay right near the beach. They have activities going on daily, a general store, a playground, an indoor pool and a small outdoor water park.

March 2017. Very cool this week but enjoyed the stay. Had to stay inside more than we like. And as always, we enjoyed the restaurants in Merrell's Inlet and MB.
