We were originally booked for Hickory Knob State Park. Due to a water line break we had to move parks. We were lucky to get spot 18 at Calhoun Falls. We were right on the water. The spot was level and easy to back into. We enjoyed our stay fishing and exploring the walking trail. The bath house was clean but could use some updating. Most sites are on the water and are pretty big. Already booked our next trip.

Great Park
Plenty of pull-thru sites. Most sites are water front or lake view. Marina has boat slips. This place seems to be popular with local fishermen. Camping sites are fairly large and well spaced apart. We were here for NYE and it was fairly quiet. Most campers are RVers.

Loved It.
Camped here a few days early fall and loved it. When we booked a site 4 months in advance there were only 2 left so book early even after peak season, on the weekends anyway. It cleared out a lot Sunday evening. Campground 1 seemed to be the better of the two to me even being the old side. More spacious lots, more waterfront lots, and better views in my opinion. Bathhouses were as expected, perfectly suitable but no frills. Nice playgrounds for the kids and a beautiful lengthy nature trail. Glad this is one of the few open year round.

A Nice Surprise
Wow, most of the sites offer fantastic views of the lake. They did a good job to get sites paved and flat, large, long and, for most of them, quite private. Good place to bike from one section of the park to the others. Two tennis courts are still usable. No WiFi except at office. The cell phone also only got reception near the office.
The place is packed with locals during weekends. Mostly fishermen.
Nice place.
